JAMES TONEY

“I am ready. All we (he and Holyfield) have to do is get in the ring. I cannot wait. I am hyped up right now. I want to hit him on the chin. As soon as I hit him flush on the chin, he will be gone.”

“I am going to knock out Holyfield within seven rounds.”

“I want to fight the best opposition out there. I always have in the past, and I will continue to do so. Evander was going through some problems with Don King and the Roy Jones Jr. camp. We decided to talk and got things together in less than 24 hours. Here we are, ready to go to war on Saturday.”

“I believe I am going to knock Holyfield out as soon as I hit him. When he hits me and finds out I am still there he is going to have that mental thing working on him. I will get him one way or the other. I will put him down physically, mentally and with my mouth. I will talk to him when I am beating on him.”

“I always talk a lot of junk, but I back it up too in and outside of the ring. I have been that way my whole life. I am just being me. James Toney is James Toney. I love James Toney. I love being me.”

“I will fight Roy Jones Jr. again. I will give him the opportunity to get knocked out this time. The first time he got a gift. I did not do what I was supposed to do. Right now, I am in the zone and he cannot touch me. If he wants to fight me as a heavyweight, that would be dangerous for him. I will be willing to knock him out if he gets the balls to sign a contract.”

“I want to rule two divisions at once. I want to go back down and defend my cruiserweight title next February. Then, I want to go back up to heavyweight and knock out the next contender.”

“I am going to go out there and do my thing, show everyone who the best fighter in the world is. I have had the best camp. I have the best corner and trainer (Freddie Roach) in the world.”

“Evander and I are great warriors. We put blood and guts in the ring. We do not run around and hug and kiss. Well, Evander might do that, but I do not.”

“I am the king of smack. You cannot out talk me no matter what. I am a street guy. I came up in the street. I have two chips on my shoulder and I want somebody to knock it off. Come on, Evander, you have a chance to do that on Saturday night.”

“There is no such thing as losing in my vocabulary. It will not happen on Saturday night. I am better than that. You know I am the best natural fighter that is in the game today. Whatever Evander has will not be enough. I prepared hard for this fight. I have been in training for four months. I am just ready to go.”

“I am not taking Evander lightly no matter what. I do not care if he is not the fighter that he used to be. When he tries to take my head off, I will have to do what I have to do.”

“I am still a young man. I am not going to be around much longer. I have only about four more years left in the game.”
