Ashira Set To Defend September 6!

03.08 - WBA International middleweight champion Evans “The African Warrior” Ashira (22-0, 12 KOs) will make the second defence of his title on September 6 in Erfurt, Germany. The fight will be on the undercard of Sven Ottke´s WBA/IBF super middleweight title fight against Denmark’s Mads Larsen.

No opponent is signed yet for Ashira, but Don King Productions is currently looking for suitable opposition for the hard-punching Danish based Kenyan.

This will only be the second time that Ashira fights since signing a three year deal with DKP almost a year ago, so it will be a hungry and determined boxer that shows up in the Erfurter Messsehalle approximately a month from now.

Meanwhile, another Danish based African; Congo light heavyweight Lolenga Mock (21-5-1, 5 KOs), is also scheduled to fight in Germany. Mock, a long time friend and sparring partner of Ashira, will travel to Nürburgring and take on hot German prospect Kai Kurzawa (10-0, 8 KOs) on August 16.

Coincidently, this fight will also be on the undercard of a world super middleweight title fight, as Markus Beyer defends his WBC version of the 168 Lb. title against Australian Danny Green in the headliner.

Mock is determined to give everything he has to turn his career around, after loosing three of his last four fights. Two of the defeats came at cruiserweight, a weight class that is absolutely not suitable for him. Mock lost decisions to former European title challenger Jesper Kristiansen and Danish prospect Lasse Johansen. South African veteran Soon Botes handed him the third blemish, also on points, in a super middleweight bout.

Now, Mock is dedicated to his real division; light heavyweight, and is very focused on taking Kurzawa in to the deep waters on August 16.
