30.11 - MUNTINLUPA CITY, Philippines - An explosive double Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) championship will be on tap tonight as jr. lightweight champion Rex Marzan and flyweight king Celso Danggud risk their titles versus separate opponents at the Alabang Elementary School covered court in Muntinlupa City.
Marzan, a native of Cagayan de Oro City, defends his crown against slick-punching PBF #3 contender Ranee Ganoy of the Mandaluyong Stable.
Marzan is a veteran international campaigner wherein he fought but lost to current WBC superfeatherweight champion Sirimongkol Singmanasak and WBA ruler Yodsanan Nanthachai.
On the other hand, Ganoys biggest win was a first round destruction of former RP superbantamweight champion Arman Molina.
Meanwhile, Danggud will stake his crown against one-time WBC Youth title challenger Rey Kid Orais.
The IBF #11 and OPBF #7 ranked Danggud is coming off two controversial losses in London. Last May 21, Danggud lost a disputed decision to Damaen Kelly for the WBF title. Five months after Danggud dropped an 8-round points verdict to WBU champion Peter Choirboy Culshaw.
The boxing event, which is free to the public, is promoted by barangay chairman Victor Ulanday who is commemorating his 100th day as barangay executive. Also lending help to this boxing event is former city councilor Dante S. Almario and promoter Yolly Alfante.
The first fight will start at 6pm (Manila Time)
