By Dennis Principe

15.12 - TAGUIG, Metro Manila, Philippines - Two world-rated boxers from Cebu are scheduled to strut their wares versus Thai opponents tonight at the Cantada Sports Complex.

RP Lightflyweight champion Wyndell "Braveheart" Janiola, currently rated number 5 in the IBF and
number 8 in both the WBC and WBA, will be challenged by Pigmy Muangchaiya for 10 rounds.

The 22 year old Janiola (12-0, 5 KO's) zoomed into the world ratings after thrashing for 10-rounds former WBC champion Saman Sorjaturong last April in Cambodia.

Janiola is scheduled to vie for the fringe International Boxing Organization (IBO) title against
current champion Mhinkhiza Meyekeni of South Africa. The title fight will be held early next year either in South Africa or England.

In a co-main event, RP minimumweight champion Rodel "105 lb. dynamite" Mayol battles little known Thai Petdonsak Sakpanya in another 10-round fight.

Mayol holds an unblemished recordof 11 wins, 9 by knockout. He is currently rated number 11 in the WBC rankings. The 22-year old Mayol won the Philippine title by decisioning former champ Niño Suelo last August.

The southpaw Mayol got a big boost in his budding career as renowned Japanese promoter Akihiko Honda expressed interest in promoting a regional or world title fight involving the Mandaue-born fighter sometime next year.
