Letter from Kostya Tszyu

By Kostys Tszyu

28.06 - I leave to Russia next week to assist with members of the Australian Amateur boxing team. I think it will be a great two weeks and the boys will learn great things from this trip.

Since arriving back home from Vegas I have been taking it easy, relaxing with my family and friends. Of course, I am still doing light training and spending a lot of my time helping and fighting the builders who are renovating my house. They are good guys, doing a great job but renovating is such a long process.

I have read Zab Judah’s apology to me in the papers and I accept it. I think the apology is not very genuine and he just done this to get back in the ring with me. I don’t want to talk about it any further, everybody knows the result of our first fight. Anyway, Zab is his own man, it is not up to me tell him how to conduct himself.

I watched both the Tyson vs Lewis fight and the Barrera vs Morales fight. I thought Lewis fought very smart and proved that he is the dominating Champion in the division. Also, I think Tyson was very good in defeat and after the fight he showed the world that he can be a normal guy, it was good to see him like this. Barrera’s win over Morales was very close. I am not a judge but I thought Barrera was just a bit better on the day. It was not as exciting as their first fight but was still an interesting fight to watch.

My next opponent is not confirmed at all, now that I hold all three belts there are a lot of parties involved in this and hopefully a decision is made in the near future. I will let the Tszyu Crew know first as soon as there is a confirmed opponent.

Many people ask me what is a good exercise, muscle & fitness programme. I suggest to try the workout that I have developed the online and printable Tszyu Workout. It is great for keeping fit and body conditioning. Click here for more information: http://www.ktboxing.com/store/profile.asp?Style=Miscelleanous .

I want to express my condolences to the family, friends, team and every body who knew Pedro Alcazar. Pedro fought for a World Title on the undercard of the Morales – Barrera fight in Las Vegas on Sunday and died two days later from swelling of the brain. His death has shocked many people. It is a terrible tragedy for the sport and everybody who is involved with the sport. What has happened is so sad and we must learn from it. My prayers and love go to his family and fans.

Tszyu Crew Corner!

Ben Taylor you posted a question to me on the Say What message board, you asked “What do you fear most in life?”

Ben, I don’t fear anything for myself, I have learnt to conquer all fear that is in my control. My greatest fear is for my loved ones that they get hurt or sick, that is what I am most afraid of.

Carwyn Llewellyn you asked:
“Who do I rate as the top 5 best Light welterweights around?”

Carwyn, Light-welterweight is another term for Super-lightweight or Junior Welterweight, which is my division. Of course I think that I am the best in the division, number 1. The next four are not in any order, to me they are the next best four in the division, they are, Sharmba Mitchell, Zab Judah, Arturo Gatti & Diobelis Hurtado.

Take Care
Kostya
