CHICAGO CONTENDER ANGEL HERNANDEZ TO HEADLINE THE JULY 10 BROADCAST

LOS ANGELES/CHICAGO, July 1,2003 - Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions, Hitz Boxing and the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino have announced that HBO Latino's "Boxeo De Oro" will make its Chicago debut on July 10 at the Allstate Arena.

In the evening's main event, Chicago's Angel Hernandez faces tough Bronx native Victor Rosado (17-4-1, 11 KOs) in a ten round junior middleweight bout. Currently ranked seventh in the world by the IBF, the 27-year-old Hernandez (25-4, 16 KOs) has stormed through the junior middleweight division in recent years, living up to his nickname of 'Toro' (The Bull).

Two-time Argentinean Olympian Guillermo Saputo (9-0, 6 KOs) features in the 10 round co-main event. Managed by Oscar de La Hoya, Saputo has impressed boxing insiders with his power and poise within the ropes. He will likely face Horatio Garcia (13-4-1, 9 KOs) of Sacramento, CA.

Both bouts will be televised live on HBO Latino's hit series "Oscar De La Hoya Presents Boxeo De Oro", beginning at 10pm ET / PT. Doors for the show open at 6PM, and the first bout begins at 7PM.

For fans of the big men, the bombs will be flying when former Canadian Olympian Art "The Polish Warrior" Binkowski (8-0-1, 6 KOs) challenges Albanian Eddy KrasNiqi (19-3, 14 KOs) for his Illinois State Heavyweight crown.

6' 5" former Canadian Football League player and Super Heavyweight Chicago Golden Gloves Champion, Carl "Ironfist" Davis (1-0,1KO) returns to the ring after making his pro debut with a spectacular first round knock out.

Also in action on July 10 is undefeated Chicago middleweight "Macho" Miguel Hernandez (2-0,1 KO), cruiserweight "Ironman" Ed Gutierrez (9-0, 7KOs) and the pro-debut of Joey "The Boss" Gil.
