Results from Arhus, Denmark - Allan Vester Decisions Uzun

ALLAN VESTER W 8 Turgay Uzun (Germany), Welterweight
Is Vester back to his best after loosing three of his last four? Seems that way as he showed all the qualities that brought him the IBF No. 1 spot. He was fast, moving well, punched precisely to both head and body and just didn't do a wrong move in winning a 80:71 shutout over International German welterweight champ Uzun. Admittedly, Uzun was a two-day sub for the injured Daniel James, but had himself won by KO just six days earlier, so was in good fighting shape. Still, that didn't help him when Vester, who scored his 20th win in 24 fights (1 draw), knocked him down with a left hook to the body in the fifth to underline his dominance.

Walter Saporiti (Argentina) KO 8 JAN JENSEN, Lightwelterweight
First loss for Jensen in his 14th fight (1 draw) and what a dramatic one. The more experienced Argentinian drew first blood when Jan was cut near the left ear in round two. A nasty accidental headclash in the next produced a bad cut over the left eye of Saporiti. Surprisingly, he was allowed to continue and the veteran knew what was required now. The fight, up to that point well-controlled by the Dane, became more intense in the fourth, Saporiti almost boxing with some desperation. After seven rounds, Jensen's fluid skills nevertheless brought him a lead of two, four and three points respectively on the cards and all he had to do was move away from danger for three more minutes. Instead, maybe loosing concentration over being so near to his biggest win, he stuck his chin out unguarded and a murderous right-left-right combo had Jensen out before his body hit the canvas. Amazingly, he regained his feet, but only for a crazy breakdance to force the ref to wave it off after just 25 seconds of the last round.

RASMUS IVERSEN KO 1 Dusan Pasic (Yugoslavia), Cruiserweight
At first, the herky-jerky Pasic had an elusive look about him. That impression, however, lasted a mere 72 seconds only as a single, clean left hook put him down and out. Iversen's record is now 8-1-1 (4).

Chris Nembhard (Jamaica) TKO 3 MARK GRAVERSEN, Supermiddleweight
In a lively encounter, Graversen tastes the canvas in the opener from a short left hook and was actually down once more from what was ruled a slip. After shipping a straight right from the Peacock fighter, the third man administered a standing eight in the second and the punch seemed to have done damage to the Dane's left eye. Mark finished the session, but retired in his own corner because of blurred vision. It was his first loss as a pro in nine fights.

LASSE JOHANSEN KO 3 Sasa Nikolic (Bosnia), Cruiserweight
Johansen improved to 3-0 (2) with an impressive punching display when he knocks out the stocky Bosnian 40 seconds in the third. Nikolic waded in with hard bursts but quickly ran out of gas and already was downed in a wild second round.

FAWAZ NASIR TKO 3 Mile Rankovic (Yugoslavia), Middleweight
The jump from superwelter has done young prospect Nasir the world of good as he looked much improved and much sharper and forceful in his attacks. The Dane of Kuwaiti roots and a part-time model put Rankovic on the floor in the second, compliments of a crashing right to the jaw and the visitor only survived because of time-buying re-taping of his gloves. There was no escape, however, in the next when big rights forced first a standing count and shortly after the stoppage. Fawaz is now 3-0 (1) and really shined.
