Clark Ready For Battle With Marshall

14.01 - Lake George, NY - www.TheDailySports.com, Inc. announced the Main Event for the "YOUNG GUNS" At The Friar Tuck Inn professional boxing show scheduled for Friday, January 24, 2003 at the Friar Tuck Inn, in Catskill, New York.

The Main Event will feature Former NABF Jr. Welterweight Champion and current Jr. Middleweight contender, Tony Marshall, 35-10-6 (12 KOs) as he takes on the tough Charles Clark, 14-12-1 (5 KOs) in an eight round Jr. Middleweight bout.

Marshall is coming off a ten-round decision victory over Benji Singleton in October to notch his 35th career win. Prior to that, Tony hadn't fought since his loss to Ouma Kassin in June of 2001.

"I can't wait to fight before a "Home Town" crowd. The last time I fought here, I packed the Pepsi Arena", said Marshall. He added, "It will be like fighting before all my friends and family. I am really looking forward to it!"

Clark is not to be taken lightly. Clark's last two fights were in July 2002. He won a majority decision over Gerald Reed on July 2nd, and then lost a decision to the highly regarded, Peter Manfredo Jr. in his hometown in Rhode Island on July 26th.

"Clark is ready for this fight. He has been training hard and has something to prove. This fight is going to be a real war", said Clark's Trainer, Bobby Glassmeyer.

Catskill Resident and former Mike Tyson Trainer, Kevin Rooney will be showcasing his newest Heavyweight sensation, Thomas Hayes, 2-0 (2 KOs) when he takes on Mike Darrell, 0-1 is a special 4-round bout.

The first bout is scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm.

4-Round Jr. Middleweight Action: Quiron McMullan, 1-0 vs TBA
