Card Finalized For Pro Boxing's Return To Maine

05.02 - www.TheDailySports.com, Inc. announced the finalized card, including TWO Main Events, as Professional Boxing makes its return to Maine with "FIGHT NIGHT" At The Multi-Purpose Center in Lewiston on Saturday, February 15, 2003.

Scheduled to appear as one half of the double-Main-Event Card, is Former World Heavyweight Contender, Oleg Maskaev, 22-5 (17 KOs). He makes his return to the ring against Errol "The Polish Hammer" Sadikovski, 4-10 (3 KOs) in a 10-round Heavyweight Battle.

The second part of this dual Main Event extravaganza will feature New England's "ICEMAN", John Scully, 38-11 (21 KOs) battle Michael "The GodFather" Corleone, 11-19-3 (2 KOs) in an 8-round Light Heavyweight bout.

Maskaev is known for his punching power. Of his 22 wins, 17 have come by knockout. Most notably, Maskaev sent Former World Heavyweight Champion and currently ranked among the top-five Heavyweights in the World, Hasim Rahman, down, out and through the ropes with one devastating punch during the 8th round of their bout on November 6, 1999 in Atlantic City.

Maskaev is coming off an 8th round loss to Corey Sanders on March 17, 2002.

"I am delighted that Oleg Maskaev has chosen to make his return to the ring on the same night as we have chosen to bring professional boxing back to the State of Maine by being part of our double-main-event show. I couldn't think of a better way to guaranty a triumphant return for professional boxing in Lewiston, then to have Oleg be part of this event. Oleg Maskaev is a world-class fighter, soon to be back in the world rankings. He will give all in attendance a chance to see a world class fighter up close and personal", stated Bill Calogero, president of www.TheDailySports.com Boxing Promotions.

"IceMan" John Scully is a fan favorite, no question about it. Fans from Bangor are making the trip, as are many from Connecticut and Massachusetts just to see some of the IceMan's magic. He has dazzled all of New England with his boxing ability during both his amateur and pro careers.

Scully's last fight was On October 26, 2002, when he fought a six-round exhibition with Martin Berthiaume in Canada. Prior to that, his last fight was an eight round decision over Cleveland Nelson on June 22, 2001.

"John is in great shape, possibility the best he has ever been in. He has been training for a while. He's focused on one thing; getting another shot at a title. John and I have the plan to get him one. I think the fans will be in for a treat when he goes up against the always tough Corleone to round out our two main events", Calogero added.

As a Special Feature Bout, scheduled to appear is Lewiston native, Don Labbe, 2-2 (1 KO) who will face off against Portland's John "Rumble" Webster, 6-4-2 in a 4-round Light Heavyweight bout. This is a real grudge match, pitting Lewiston against Portland and is sure to be a crowd pleaser!

The rest of the card is as follows:

4-Round Welterweight Action: Russell Jordan, 2-1 (2 KOs) vs Robert Parkman, 4-2 6-Round Middleweight Action: Keith Sonley, 3-7-4 vs Francisco Arroche, 5-17-1
