Clark Ready To Battle

01.04 - Veteran fighter, Charles Clark, 14-14 (5 KOs) will take on Hot Jr. Middleweight Prospect, Andrey Tsurkan, 17-1 (12 KOs) Friday, April 4, 2003 at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT, promoted by Star Boxing.

Virtually unknown, Clark is a classic example of a fighter who has been mis-handled during his seven-year professional career. He was frequently over matched early in his career. The result was a bad attitude and a bunch of losses.

Clark wants to get a shot at a title. He knew he had to make some changes. He signed a manager, Courtney Bridget. His next step was to find a trainer that would help him improve. He found a quality trainer in former Cruiserweight contender, David Sewell. The final piece of the puzzle was a promoter. Enter Bill Calogero and www.TheDailySports.com Boxing Promotions.

"When I saw Clark get robbed in the Tony Marshall fight, I knew this was a changed fighter. After several meetings with Courtney, I decided to take a chance with this kid. He has been working hard in the gym and is now 100% dedicated to boxing. We hope to help turn his career around", stated Bill Calogero, president of TheDailySports.com Boxing Promotions. He added, "I think people will start to know who Charles Clark is after Friday's fight with Tsurkan. We are looking for a KO."

Clark will get his chance to showcase his improvements Friday as his bout with Andrey Tsurkan may be shown on ESPN as an under card bout for the Ray Mercer vs. Robert Wiggins Heavyweight main event.
