Shannon Briggs to Fight 3 times in 30 Days

27.08 - Heavyweight boxer Shannon Briggs is back, and he is back in full force. In the next 30 days he will fight three times. Briggs is confident that he will win all three bouts. “I am in better shape than I have ever been. I am the fastest heavyweight in the world today, and I will knockout anybody that steps into the ring with me,” says Briggs.

Briggs’ last fight was this past July 19th. With tremendous speed and a killer 3 punch combination, Briggs KO’ed John Sargent seventeen seconds into the first round, and took hold of the vacant IBU and WBE World Heavyweight Titles. Briggs is training harder then ever, and can’t wait to step into the ring again.

Briggs will get his first chance to continue his comeback this Thursday night in historic Charleston, SC. Bobby Mitchell Promotions will present Boxing “Live”, at THE PLEX at 7 PM. Shannon Briggs will brawl with Wade “Rock” Lewis, in a 10 round Main Event. The 33 year-old 6’3” Lewis from Tuscaloosa, AL is 12-6 with 11 K.O.’s.

Eight days later Briggs will get back in the ring at the War Memorial Auditorium in Ft. Lauderdale Friday, September 5th at 7 PM Shannon Briggs will go toe to toe with 30 year-old heavy-handed ex Army Sergeant Dennis McKinney. McKinney has 25 wins, 13 coming by way of knockout. McKinney’s old school boxing style and heart-filled aggression makes him a fierce and dangerous opponent.

Briggs’ third fight in this impressive series showing off his increased strength and endurance will be towards the end of September in Minnesota. Details of the fight are not yet available, but boxing fans can be sure that Shannon Briggs will reaffirm his place as a contender for the undisputed Heavyweight title, and as the most powerful heavyweight boxer today. Shannon Briggs has on numerous occasions challenged Mike Tyson to step into the ring with him in the “Battle for Brownsville”. Briggs can’t wait to step into the ring with Tyson, or any one else who is up for the challenge.

Shannon Briggs’ fame reaches far outside of the ring. Over the course of his career Briggs has appeared across the pages of some of the most popular magazines in the world including Vibe, Rolling Stone, Details, and GQ. Shannon has made numerous T.V. and radio appearances, and recently made his big screen debut in famed producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s Summer Blockbuster “BAD BOYS II”. If all that weren’t enough Briggs was a model for Guess?, and has recorded with the Fugees.

Since beginning his pro boxing career in 1992, Shannon Briggs has proven to the world that he is one of the best. His illustrious career speaks for itself. Briggs has a sparkling record comprising of 38 wins, 4 loses, and one draw. Of his 38 wins, 32 came by way of knockout, and 24 for of those came in the first round. His list of opponents reads like a who’s who of heavyweight boxing. He has battled with Lennox Lewis and Francois Botha, and in 1997 he defeated the legendary George Foreman to capture the linear heavyweight title. Shannon Briggs is a powerful force in the sport of boxing, and he is poised to become the number one ranked heavyweight boxer in the world.
