to Appear on Last Call with Carson Daly

11.09 - New York, NY-- Heavyweight boxer Shannon Briggs,
the leading candidate to take on Mike Tyson, will be
appearing on NBCs Last Call with Carson Daly Thursday
night. In 1997 he defeated the legendary George Foreman
to capture the linear heavyweight title. Briggs has
a sparkling record comprising of 38 wins, 4 loses, and
one draw with 32 KOs, 24 for of those came in
the first round. Briggs is now back, and he is
back in full force. Briggs talked to Daly about his
new relationship with TrimSpa. He told Daly he is
in better shape than I have ever been, thanks to TrimSpa,
and without a doubt I am the fastest heavyweight in
the world today, and I will knockout anybody that steps
into the ring with me.
Briggs also talked about his desire to take on Mike
Tyson. Briggs has on numerous occasions challenged Mike
Tyson to step into the ring with him in the Battle
for Brownsville. Briggs shares his hometown of
Brooklyn, NY with Tyson. Briggs promoter's Greg Cohen
and Cedric Kushner of CKP have put a 10 Million Dollar
purse on the table to fight Tyson. Add to that another
10 Million in Pay-Per-View sales and Tyson is looking
at a payday of over 20 million dollars. Tyson who recently
signed with K1 cant run or hide from
Briggs, who recently signed with the Boxing/Kickboxing/Ultimate
Fighting Promotion Company as well. Hes
not going to get away from me, I want Tyson, Ill
get Tyson. Briggs is eager to mix it up with Tyson,
or any one else who is up for the challenge.
Briggs last fight was this past July 19th. Briggs
KOed John Sargent seventeen seconds into the first
round, and took hold of the vacant IBU and WBE World
Heavyweight Titles. Briggs is training harder then ever,
and cant wait to step into the ring again.
Briggs got the chance to continue his comeback this
past Thursday in Charleston, SC., Briggs fought Wade
Rock Lewis, in a 10 round Main Event in
front of a sellout crowd. Briggs knocked Lewis down
in the second, then won the fight by T.K.O. in the third.
On September 25th Briggs will take on former Army Sergeant
Dennis McKinney in Charleston, S.C. for a 15 round bout.
Then its off to the offices of Muscle and Fitness
Magazine for a shoot for their Nov/Dec cover.
Over the course of his career Briggs has appeared across
the pages of some of the most popular magazines in the
world including Vibe, Rolling Stone, Details, and GQ.
Shannon has made numerous T.V. and radio appearances,
and recently made his big screen debut with Will Smith
and Martin Lawrence in the 2003 Summer Blockbuster BAD
BOYS II.
