Danish lightweight Dennis Holbaek up for grabs!

By Denzel Ivarsson

01.01 - Here is a piece of advice to all you promoters out there: 28-year old Danish lightweight Dennis Holbaek Pedersen, who challenged for the IBF World lightweight-title against reigning champ Paul Spadafora in Chester, West Virginia on the 9th of November, and lost on twelve round decision to the Pittsburgh-fighter, is up for grabs. His former contract with Team Palle expired during December and the good-looking Scandinavian prospect that sports the record of 43-2-0 (having lost only to Russian power-puncher, Boris Sinitsin and above mentioned Spadafora) is undoubtedly a man to sign!

The Kolding-boxer is in every sense a boxer that can excite a crowd. He boxes beautifully and knows when to turn on that well-needed fighting-heart of his. He can both box and fight. Numerous bouts on Palle-cards has been action-packed and sometimes ferociously hard-fought. Like his second encounter with Russian Boris Sinitsin (W12) in 2000 and his latest fight prior to the World title challenge, the one with American, John Bailey in defence of his IBC-belt in February of 2001. That one and many more have impressed most observers and convinced them that Holbaek is for real.

Dennis has piled up wins over such respectable opponents as, former IBF featherweight champion, Tom "Boom Boom" Johnson (4/9-1998,W12), Kirkor Kirkorov (18/6-1999, For the European titleW12) and top-class Americans Marty Jakubowski (26/5-2000, KO7) and Eddie Croft (3/9-1999, KO6). In addition to that the technical Dane has a solid amateur-background to show for. Four consecutive Danish National titles, 1991,and 1992 (at bantamweight), 1993 and 1994 (at featherweight) and a Scandinavian ditto in 1992. He belonged to the Danish National squad steadily during those years and competed at the European and World championships in 1993.

In my opinion, there is hard to find a more suitable guy to sign and with the Spadafora experience behind him, Dennis is ready to take on what ever is put in front of him. If you'd like a boxer with great potential and several years left at top-quality level, you'd better consider Dennis" the menace" but act quick! According to Danish sources the man from Kolding is already considering some offers!
