Local MMA Star, CJ Marsh, to Fight Will Noland

CageSport MMA - 17/07/2014

July 17th, 2014 (Tacoma, WA) – Local favorite, CJ Marsh (5-5), has stepped up to fight Will Noland (8-4) in the main event of CageSport 31, this Saturday night at the Emerald Queen Casino. Earlier this week, Noland’s opponent, Alfonso Gonzales, injured his rotator cuff while training and had no choice, but to being pulled out of the fight.

Marsh serves as an exciting replacement, coming off two spectacular knockouts in his last two fights, which were both taken on late notice. If history repeats itself, then Marsh is certainly in line for a good outcome on Saturday night.

“Sometimes these replacement fights end up being a better fight than the original,” said promoter, Brian Halquist. “CJ has really come on as of late and is showcasing his one punch knockout power. This fight will be a barn burner!”

Marsh has a lot of momentum heading into Saturday’s fight. Taking two last minute fights, Marsh knocked out well respected Hawaiian MMA fighter, Maki Pitolo, in the first round. Two weeks later, he knocked out Jacob Harkness in the third round.

“The Northwest MMA fans will be treated to a great fight,” Halquist said. “CJ is on a big winning streak Will Noland is a tough fighter.” This fight has all the makings to be a classic.”

Marsh is no stranger to sports. His father, Curt Marshall, was an All-American football player at the University of Washington eventually becoming the 23rd overall pick in the 1981 NFL draft by the Oakland Raiders.

The undercard features the best up and coming MMA fighters the west coast has to offer.

Harrison Bevens (6-2) vs. Chris Sowell (2-0) at 155+1
