New England Fights (NEF), America’s number-one regional fight promotion, is pleased to announce that it has re-signed Jesse “The Viking” Erickson (3-3) to a long-term contract to remain with the company. Erickson had already been signed to a contract with NEF which is set to expire after his upcoming bout in November. His new contract will go into effect after the previous contract expires. Erickson will rematch Bruce “Pretty Boy” Boyington (8-7) for the NEF Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Lightweight Title on November 15, 2014 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine. The pair met last month for the vacant title with Boyington getting the win, and the title, via second-round technical knockout. Erickson is a coach and manager out of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) in Auburn, Maine.
“It has been a great blessing to have the opportunity to compete as a professional in the sport I love so close to home,” stated Erickson. “I am happy to continue my MMA journey with NEF after signing a long term multi-fight contract. Thank you NEF for all you do for combat sports in Maine.”
“Jesse Erickson has been with NEF since the beginning,” said NEF co-owner and promoter Nick DiSalvo. “Everyone in this organization has the utmost respect for him and CMBJJ. We look forward to a long future with Jesse and his teammates.”
