Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KO’s) will try and “humble” Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) and “Shock the world” on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Guerrero thinks he’s got the skills and the game plan to be successful, but more than likely it’ll be the same plan that Guerrero used in beating Andre Berto last November by pressuring Mayweather and roughing him up.

If Guerrero can rough Mayweather up like he did with Berto, we could see a close fight that could go either way, but if the referee keeps a close eye on Guerrero’s fouling and takes points away for things like holding and hitting, Guerrero could find himself in the losing end of a lopsided decision. He’s got to be able to rough Mayweather up to win the fight because he doesn’t have the speed, defense or fighting style to beat a modern fighter like Mayweather using the same plan he did for Berto.

What’s interesting about this fight is that Guerrero believes that God has made a plan for him to beat Mayweather. In other words, he’s picked him specifically to win this fight and humble Mayweather. With Guerrero bringing religion into the fight and saying that God has picked him out, it puts a lot of pressure on Guerrero to fulfill this vision thing that he believes in his head. If Guerrero fails to do so then he’s going to have to re-think his ideas about religion influencing what happens in the ring. As for Mayweather, he just sees Guerrero as a hypocrite who talks religion but then he turns around and carries a gun on him and has a poster of Marilyn Monroe in his house.
