WBA/WBC 140 lb. champion Danny Garcia arrive tomorrow to Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO- World Boxing Association (WBA) and World Boxing Council (WBC) super lightweight champion, Danny “Swift” Garcia will arrive in Puerto Rico tomorrow to participate in the first press conference for his next title defense against Mexican Mauricio Herrera on Saturday, March 15, at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon, in a Golden Boy Promotions and Swift Promotions presentation, in association with PR Best Boxing Promotions Promotions (PRBBP), which will air on Showtime.

Swift Garcia (27-0, 16 KOs), a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Puerto Rican parents, will come to the Puerto Rico’s Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport in flight #771 of US Airways, scheduled to arrive at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow. The undefeated boxer will be accompanied by his father and trainer Angel Garcia.

The clash between Garcia and Herrera (20-3, 7 KOs), in which the Puerto Rican will defend his WBC belt for the fifth time and the WBA crown for the fourth time will be the main event of a card that will also have the heavyweights Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (30-0, 30 KOs) and Malik “King” Scott (36-1-1, 13 KOs) facing in a 12 round bout and the rematch between former 122 and 126 pounds world champions, Juan Manuel “Juanma” Lopez (33-3, 30 KOs) and Daniel Ponce de Leon (45-5, 35 KOs) fighting for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) International junior lightweight title scheduled to 10 rounds, and other bouts that will be announced soon.

The press conference for the Garcia-Herrera event will be held on Tuesday, February 4, at 12:00 noon (11:00 a.m. ET) at the Verdanza Hotel in Isla Verde, Carolina, Puerto Rico.
