Las Vegas has been paying close attention to undefeated Jesus “Chuy” Gutierrez for some time now. Roy Jones Jr. has given Chuy a chance to fight for the lightweight vacant WBC USNBC title Sept. 20 at Sunset Station in Las Vegas against Rashad Ganaway 14-4, 9KOs. His record stands at 12-0, 4KOs, and his not shy to and for any competition. Not only is he exciting to watch in the ring, he also is a great ticket drawer, packing seats with fans laced in his black and silver Pound 4 Pound and RHP gear. There’s been a lot of heat, mostly positive, surrounding this young prospect mainly because who he’s represented by. Right Hook Promotions is a local entertainment and PR company who happens to also represent Chuy. In each fight, Chuy gains so much attention it often over shadow some of the bigger headliners and promoters. But so far there is no controversy surrounding this upcoming fight but it is expected to be explosive. Both fighters are going in to the ring with impressive records and confidence, but only one can come out with the title.

We caught up with Chuy recently at a Tuff N Uff fight for a quick one on one:

VM: Hey Chuy your always in the gym. What do you do when you’re not boxing?

Chuy: Boxing is my job. So when I’m able to have free time I mainly spend it with my family and friends. I enjoy their company as much as I can, before it’s time to go back to work.

VM: How do you feel going in to your first title fight?

Chuy: For me every fight is just as important and like a title fight to me. I go into a fight ready to win and to do whatever it takes to assure that.

VM: What do you expect from your opponent for this fight?

Chuy: I don’t really worry about what my opponent comes with. I believe in myself and my abilities and that’s all that matters.

VM: For the record, what made you sight to Right Hook Promotions:

Chuy: RHP…It was a perfect match.

VM: Do you have any future prospects you would like to fight?

Chuy: I want to start my career by conquering the lightweight division. So whoever I have to beat to accomplish that, with that said. EVERYBODY!
