Malik Scott: I’ll shutout Chisora

Unbeaten heavyweight contender Malik Scott (35-0-1, 12 KO’s) thinks Britain’s Dereck Chisora (16-4, 10 KO’s) will be a good scalp to add to his collection in their fight this month on July 20th at the Wembley Arena in Wembley, London, UK, Scott, #13 IBF, #15 WBA, sees a victory over the 29-year-old Chisora leading to big fights against the likes of the Klitschko brothers or Tomas Adamek.

Those are the guys that the 32-year-old Scott is targeting if and when he beats Chisora this month. Scott realizes that he’s getting up there in age as a contender and he needs to make his move now if he’s ever to get a title shot.

This is why’s really happy to be facing the former world title challenger Chisora, because it’ll give him a chance to show the world his skills by dominating him.

Scott said to esnewsreporting “This fight’s going to change my life…Chisora’s a hell of a gatekeeper…it would be a shutout; the same thing you’re going to see on July 20th, a shutout. If he gets too frisky, too emotional, I’ve got the fight by stoppage. After this, we’re interested in Adamek, the Klitschkos.”

Chisora is a potentially a tough opponent for the likes of Scott. When Chisora was at the top of his game when he fought an injured Robert Helenius and Vitali Klitschko, he was tough on them with his pressure and power. However, Chisora has problems against fighters that box him, as we saw in his losses to Vitali and Tyson Fury. Chisora also was stopped last year in the 5th round by David Haye in July of 2012.

Scott doesn’t have the kind of power to sweep Chisora out of the ring like Haye did, but he does have the kind of boxing skills to out-box Chisora the way that Fury did.

Scott just needs to stay busy, move, pick off shots and make sure he doesn’t stand in one place for too long. Chisora doesn’t throw a lot of punches due to his stamina issues, so if Scott is merely busy, he should win this fight without any problems.
