Unbeaten American heavyweight Malik Scott (35-0-1, 12 KO’s) sees British heavyweight Dereck Chisora (16-4, 10 KO’s) as mainly a marketing fighter that is best as selling his fights rather than in performing in them. Scott notes that Chisora was able to get a title shot against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko with only 17 fights under his belt last year. Scott and Chisora will be fighting this Saturday night at the Wembley Arena in London, UK.

Scott said to BoxNation “He’s [Chisora] a salesman. It’s all calculated. He knows what he’s doing. It’s worked for him. I don’t know anybody that had 16 fights and was fighting for the Championship of the World. When you’re in with me you’re dealing with a lot of different attributes. We know about what he’s coming with. He’s coming right at me. I’m going to be setting traps and I’m going to be tagging him…if Dereck wants to f*** all his money up and act stupid, it’s on him. F*** his antics!”

Scott, 32, isn’t worried about Chisora slapping him or kissing him at the final press conference. He says whatever Chisora does, it won’t faze him one bit because he’s already dealt with mind games from his other opponents and he already knows that Chisora is just trying to sell the fight to his British fans.

The problem is if Chisora goes too far in doing something over the top it could hurt him as far as another suspension, and he’s going to need to be careful in how he behaves.

Some boxing fans are giving Chisora a pretty good chance to win this fight because of his experience, power and hometown advantage, but it’s going to be really tough for him to do that because Scott is mobile fighter with excellent boxing skills. He’s not a big puncher but he’s hard to hit and he does well against plodders like Chisora.
