Lucas Browne says David Haye is “Full of s**t!”

As fight fans have probably read, come-backing former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye has announced how he is “in talks” with new WBA belt holder Lucas Browne and is hopeful he might fight him in his second return fight, set for May 21st at The O2 in London. However, Browne, who is obliged to fight Fres Oquendo as per the WBA’s tournament designed to finally crown just one man as their heavyweight king (there are currently three men staking such a claim: Browne, Tyson Fury and Luis Ortiz) took to Twitter to shoot down Haye’s talk.

In his own colorful, no-nonsense way, the unbeaten warrior known as “Big Daddy,” wrote the following in response to Haye’s claims:

“Ok just for the record what haye is saying is full of shit. He’s an attention seeker trying to get some more lime light.”

That seems pretty conclusive: Browne will NOT be fighting Haye in May, or maybe at any other time. Again, it is likely Browne will make the first defence of the title he won in stunning underdog-makes-a-fool-of-the-odds fashion against Ruslan Chagaev just over a week ago against Oquendo. Not too many people, shy of Browne’s Australian fans who would welcome a home defence fight which they could attend, are overly excited about this fight, as capable as Oquendo is. It just doesn’t look like being an exciting fight, simple as that. But hopefully, Browne will soon enough engage in the big, big exciting fights his hard work has more than earned.

As for Haye, with Browne out as his May 21st dance partner, fans are left wondering just who “The Hayemaker” will fight just over two months from now. It’s no secret former champ Shannon “Let’s Go Champ” Briggs wants the fight and the payday that would go along with it, and Briggs is reportedly set to travel to the UK any day now. Will fans get excited about a Haye Vs. Briggs collision? Maybe, in light of how good a talker Briggs is. Just imagine the fun the press conference(s) would be!

If it’s not Briggs, it could really be just about anybody else for Haye in May. But as far as a world title chance goes, Haye will have to do what Browne did: earn it.
