Fury Says Klitschko Hasn’t Faced Anyone Like Him. Bollucks

Despite the carnival/entertainer atmosphere that Tyson Fury effectively promotes, it doesn’t always help the lad who strays from the truth.

“Klitschko has never fought anyone like me.”

Pretty bold words.

Especially when the braggadocio’s tilts fall towards a champion who has faced-and soundly defeated-Samuel Peter, Chris Byrd, Lamon Brewster, Kubrat Pulev, Tony “The Tiger” Thompson (twice), David Haye, Ruslan Chagaev, Eddie “Fast Eddie” Chambers and a host of other erstwhile and quasi-brave challengers based both in the U.S. and the U.K. All of Klitschko’s above-mentioned defeats were heavyweight champions.

Fury also claims a physical advantage. Fury (6’9″) is allegedly taller than Klitschko, claiming to have a height at least three inches (7+ cm) higher than Dr. Steelhammer.

Not exactly what the weigh-in press conference/stare down held yesterday in Düsseldorf indicated. The two men looked equal in height. Was it the camera angle?

More relevant to the analysis of this heavyweight championship fight is the pedigree and experience. Fury’s victories against Dereck Chisora, Christian Hammer, Steve Cunningham et al. pale in comparison to the vanquished foes of Wladimir Klitschko.

Muhammad Ali once said “It ain’t bragging if you can back it up.” Let’s see if Fury can do it.
