Floyd Lays Waste to Broner

Newly retired former P4P boss, Floyd Mayweather, has publicly shredded ‘lil bro’, Adrien Broner, for derogatory comments the WBA (sup) 140 lb champion made about Mayweather’s promotional arm.

Broner, who has bizarrely been upgraded to super champion status with the WBA after his one sided win over Khabib Allakhverdiev recently, was once considered by many to be heir apparent to Mayweather, with Floyd himself having been extremely vocal in his support of the Ohio native over the years.

“When Adrien Broner won his first world title, I don’t know who he fought, I don’t even know who the guy was, but I was happy for him and I always wanted to give Adrien Broner positive advice,” Mayweather told fighthype.com, also expressing his disappointment at the ‘F*** TMT’ comments ‘The Problem’ aimed toward his fighters.

“Instead of saying f*** The Money Team, He needs to be thanking The Money Team because at the end of the day, [PBC brainchild] Al Haymon is part of the Money team. Everything is under the same umbrella when it’s all said and done. If you saying, ‘*** Al Haymon,’ you saying, ‘*** Floyd Mayweather!”

Mayweather recently stated he would be interested in making a fight between Broner and his British 140 lb fighter, Ashley Theophane, something that has potentially provoked the ire of Broner, who while admittedly a level above in class, could be seen to be suffering a little professional jealousy with regards to other fighters close to Mayweather.

While Theophane – an ex-British 140 lb champ – would also rightly be a considerable underdog against Broner, the circumstances surrounding Broner’s latest title win over the inactive Allakhverdiev, would mean for many that a fight with Theophane is a realistic proposition in any event, as Mayweather appears to inadvertently reason.

“He loses to Shawn Porter [in June], then you fight for a world title right after that, for a vacant title, you and your opponent coming off losses.

“Me as a fighter, if I lost a fight, there’s no way in hell that my next fight I would be fighting for a title against another guy that’s coming off a loss. I wouldn’t even be proud or consider myself a champion.”

“You gotta watch what you say because you don’t never know who you may need in life or who you may bump into in life. You got to realize this, I mean, I feel like Adrien Broner still has a lot of growing up to do. He has a lot of growing up to do,” Mayweather added.
