Vincent Feigenbutz (20-1, 19 KOs) is promising a spectacular performance on Saturday night as the twenty year-old power puncher prepares to defend his interim WBA World Super Middleweight title against Italy’s Giovanni De Carolis (23-5, 11 KOs) at the dm-Arena in Karlshrue, Germany.

Bolstered by local support, the young talent, who will be headlining his first show, is confident he can continue his run of impressive knockout victories against the wily veteran De Carolis.

‘’The support I have received has been fantastic,’’ said Feigenbutz at today’s final pre-fight press conference. ‘’On Saturday night, I want to repay all my fans with another spectacular performance. I know De Carolis is a good experienced opponent, but once I catch him on the chin, he will wish he never stepped into the ring with me.’’

The Italian challenger shares the young champion’s confidence and believes his experience will be the decisive factor in their battle for the WBA interim crown.

‘’I know he is strong and powerful, but what the boy is lacking is experience, and this will be my key to victory,’’ said De Carolis. ‘’I know how to stand and fight against a puncher, and who is to say I wont be the one landing the knockout blow?’

Much has been made of the De Carolis’ ability to withstand a punch in the build up to the fight. He has only been stopped once in his twenty-eight-fight career, and having previously gone twelve rounds with the hard-hitting Arthur Abraham, the 31 year-old has said he expects no problems standing up to Feigenbutz’s power.

‘’If De Carolis believes Vincent and Arthur Abraham share the same clout then he is in for a rude awakening,’’ said Feigenbutz’s coach Hans-Peter Brenner. ‘’Vincent hits considerably harder, and on Saturday night, he will feel the full force of those punches and I expect him to throw in towel.’’

‘’The fans are going to see something special on Saturday night,’’ said promoter Kalle Sauerland. ‘’Here we have a twenty year-old who in the last twenty-four months has scored thirteen successive knockout wins. He faces a tough test against De Carolis, which if he overcomes, will leave me in no doubt that he will become Team Sauerland’s youngest ever World Champion!’’
