Lyndon Arthur remains on track to challenge for the light heavyweight world title in May, a decision he legitimised with a dominant unanimous points win over Boris Crighton on a Channel 5-televised show from the University of Bolton Stadium. Having originally been set to face Brahian Suarez for the vacant IBO belt, Arthur had to adjust to the late change of opponent. But the Mancunian failed to be flustered and impressed the sell-out crowd with a dynamic display, featuring a ninth round knockdown, over the full 10 rounds.

Headlining the show, Arthur’s victory was preceded by a pulsating encounter between Kane Gardner and Conah Walker, which ended with the former emerging with a 78-76 win. Meanwhile Chloe Watson, at flyweight, extended her professional record to 5-0, James Moorcroft booked a shot at the English welterweight title with a second round stoppage of Nathan Bennett, and Niall Brown and Bahadur Karami put on a fight-of-the-night contender.

Also taking victory were Bobby Faulkner, Sultan Zaurbek, Oliver Zaren, Alex Murphy, Katharina Thanderz, Ashley Marron, and Denis Radovan, who was awarded a technical knockout over Fouad El Masaoudi in the fifth round due to a nasty cut around his rival’s eye.
