Algeria’s Djamel Dahou gets the opportunity to state his case for a world title crack when he takes on Daniel Valenzuela of Mexico for the WBC Youth Interim Welterweight belt on December 19.

World title chasing Dahou hopes to take advantage of home support to see off the challenge of Valenzuela at 34000 Bordj Bou Arreridj in Algeria on the heels of Christmas 2014.

Algeria’s leading fight promoters, Mokhtar Mohamed Boxing Promotions are staging the December 19 bout which has been sanctioned by WBC as well as the Algeria Boxing Board and sponsored by Groupe Benhamadi.

Undefeated Dahou (12-0, 11 KOs) who is nicknamed King, has vowed to reign supreme in the ring in anticipation of being crowned the WBC Youth Interim Welterweight king.

That is why his management have planned a three-week training camp in the UK under the stewardship of former Commonwealth and WBU Welterweight champion, Ryan Barrett.

“I am thanking all Algerians for their support throughout my career and I am promising them victory. All I ask is for everyone to continue to back me with their support and prayers and I will win this title for everyone,” Dahou said.

Not to be intimidated however is Daniel Valenzuela (33-24-2, 21 KOs), the vastly ring experienced Mexican slugger who is keen to maintain his own push for world recognition in pursuit of the childhood dream of wearing a global championship belt.

“This is a chance I have been waiting for all my career and I am determined to take it with both hands. I am training very hard and I am confident I will come out a winner, his home support won’t be a problem,” 24 year old Valenzuela said.
