Boxing journalist and radio commentator Joseph Herron joins talented fight trainer Rick Morones Jr. in this comprehensive video analysis of “Toe to Toe: Canelo vs. Angulo”, as they preview the upcoming Golden Boy Promotions event.

Although both fighters are coming into this match-up after experiencing high profiled losses to Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Erislandy Lara respectively, Canelo and Angulo will enter the ring with explosive knock-out power and championship swagger in their arsenal. The two big punchers will attempt to stake their individual claim among the elite of the talent enriched 154 pound weight division, and place themselves in a position for a another championship opportunity.

While the two Mexican born fighters go into each and every bout looking for the impressive knock-out, Canelo and Angulo present very different styles when facing an opponent.

The 23 year old fighter from Jalisco, is a pocket counterpuncher who combines speed with power and throws creative combinations to the body and head. He has made a living off of exploiting more aggressive minded opponents in the past, but has yet to face a natural 154 pound fighter with the kind of size, power, durability, and punch output of Alfredo Angulo.

Despite bringing a deep amateur background into this match-up, “El Perro” has yet to gain a signature win on his resume against a perceived elite level talent in the Junior Middleweight division. Many ringside experts believe that Angulo does not possess the technical prowess to defeat the recognized best fighters in the weight class, and will never exceed his position as a perennial contender of the sport.

Under the tutelage of experienced fight trainer Virgil Hunter, the Mexicali warrior believes that he has what it takes to become a champion and can pull off the recognized upset this weekend.

Will Angulo derail the “Canelo Express” this Saturday night, or can Alvarez withstand the effective aggression and impose his brand of punishment on “El Perro” to get back some of the respect that he lost on September 14th of last year?

In the theater of the unexpected, anything can and often does happen in the squared circle.

That’s why they fight the fights, and that’s ultimately why fans tune in!!
