And The Winner is…Al Haymon

It seems that in the recent weeks Al Haymon has been a very busy man. Haymon is one of the most mysterious men in boxing because he is rarely photographed at boxing events. He also has been called one of the most influential figures in boxing. He is known to have great relationships with cable networks and his fighters get plenty of exposure due to this. Well these past couple of weeks Haymon has been signing everyone under the sun. His most recent signing is rumored to be Robert Guerrero, just last week it was Amir Khan.

The Khan signing came in just as I wrote a story on him signing a Baltimore featherweight Gervonta Davis. Haymon already has a amazing stable of fighters with the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Adrien Broner, Adonis Stevenson, Lamont Peterson, Danny Garcia, Marcos Maidana, Gary Russell Jr., and Deontay Wilder to name a few. He is quickly putting together an unstoppable force of talent. The thing about Haymon is he isn’t a licensed manager so he can do certain things that a boxing manager might not be allowed to do. He calls himself an advisor and that allows him to still conduct his business as he wants.

Fighters that sign with Haymon know they will gain enormous exposure and also big money fights, which is why Haymon has fighters knocking at his door. My question is what is Haymon’s endgame?does he plan to officially start a management company or will he stay in the shadows? Haymon is getting a cut of everyone’s pie and I honestly think what he is doing business wise is brilliant. I wonder which fighter will sign next.
