Amir Khan wants Pacquiao fight

After his recent, and fourth in a row victory over Devon Alexander (26-3-0), Amir Khan (30-3-0) seems to be back on the paved track to a mega-fight.

After a loss to Lamont Peterson in 2011, and a brutal TKO loss to Danny Garcia in 2012, Khan’s future seemed to be escaping his grasp. In boxing, a couple losses in a row can nosedive a career, weakening a possibility for a huge payday.

Facing harsh criticism was something that Khan had to bare through, but in the end, after making the decision to swap Freddie Roach for Virgil Hunter, Khan seems to have elevated not only his own self esteem, but the confidence of his fans as well.

Now that more lucrative fights are on the horizon, Amir is thinking big:

“I could make money out of fighting Kell Brook but it’s not about the money for me. I have proven myself at top level and want the big fights. I would love to fight at Wembley stadium. I believe Manny Pacquiao would come to England and fight me here – that would be good,” stated Khan in an interview with theboltonnews.co.uk.

A year ago, this would seem unlikely, even impossible. But now, with Khans stock high enough, Pacquiao not fighting Mayweather Jr. may mean a shot for Khan. As a matter of fact, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see both Mayweather Jr. and Pacquiao offering Khan a bout.

May is just 5 months away, thus a decision should be made sooner rather than later. Aside from the boxing fans around the world, Amir Kahn will also be impatiently waiting, hoping that their fight will not come to fruition, giving him the opportunity of a lifetime.
