Alexander Povetkin Leaves Long Time Manager Vlad Hrunov

Apparently things didn’t go too smooth between Alexander Povetkin and his former manager Vlad Hrunov. That’s right, as soon as his long awaited fight against Wladimir Klitschko was made official; Povetkin fired his long time manager Vlad Hrunov.

“Recently, all of my connections with my former manager Vlaldimir Hrunov and myself have been ceased. Vladimir no longer has anything to do with me, and all of the negotiations I do directly with Andrey Ryabinkiy. He will be in charge of the preparations and putting together the training camp. Vladimir talked too much but did too little, thus business should have been cancelled with him a long time ago. Now, there is nothing connecting us,” stated Povetkin in a YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueGWKZz9uXk).

This seems very bizarre, as Povetkin’s name and success has been directly tied with Hrunov Promotions. Did the Klitschko fight have anything to do with this occurrence? Did Hrunov want a bigger piece of the pie than Povetkin was willing to give?

Most of the updates regarding the potential Povetkin vs. Klitschko fight have been coming via interviews with Hrunov. What lack of effort is Povetkin referring to? Bad blood between the two much have happened recently, and most likely due to a more personal issue rather than a business one.

Could this possibly stall or even become a roadblock to the megafight?
