Tom Doran - Making his first defense of his IBF heavyweight title, Anthony Joshua (17-0, 17 KOs) gave American Dominic Breazeale (17-1, 15 KOs) a bad beating in defeating him by a 7th round knockout on Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London, UK. Joshua put the game but limited Breazeale down two times in the 7th. The fight was stopped at 1:01 with Breazeale on the canvas unable to get up. He was too hurt.

Breazeale had talked ahead of time of giving Joshua a tough fight, but the only thing Breazeale was the ability to absorb a horrible beating. I’m not sure that Joshua could have withstood the amount of huge shots that Breazeale took if the fight was the other way around.

Doran Wants Blackwell Next; Warren Baister Makes Pro Debut

Tom Doran has told Nick Blackwell he’s gunning for his British Middleweight title – after he sees off Rod Smith in an eliminator clash at the Echo Arena in Liverpool tomorrow night, live on Sky Sports. Doran moved back into title contention in February when he landed the Prizefighter title in style in Blackpool, Craig Cunningham, Luke Keeler and Cello Renda. That win put him into the limelight and Doran says he has timed his run perfectly to take the title from Nick Blackwell in 2016.

Prizefighter – The Middleweights III – Ringside Review

Unbeaten middleweight Tom Doran 14-0 (4KO’s) collected the 34th Prizefighter trophy tonight and more importantly a £34,000 cash injection that at this stage of his career is massive.

The 27-year-old started superbly dropping Craig Cunningham with a powerful straight right hand in his first round of his quarter final, to progress to the semi finals.

Doran proceeded to dispose of pre-tournament favourite with a controlled performance behind a strong jab that saw him win out 29-28 on all judges’ scorecards to set up a meeting with previous Prizefighter finalist Cello Renda.
