In the televised opener, Tugstsogt Nyambayar (8-0, 7 KOs) emerged victorious with a hard-fought 10th round technical knockout over Jhon Gemino (15-8-1, 7 KOs).

Fresh off a dominant TKO victory of Zoltan Sera last month in Philadelphia, Derrick “Take it to the Bank” Webster (21-1, 11 KOs) will make a return to the ring on Jan. 21st at the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, N.J. Standing opposite him that night will be Thomas Awimbono (25-5-1, 21 KOs), with the IBO Super Middleweight Championship on the line.

“I am extremely excited because it has been a few years since the last time I fought in New Jersey,” the Glassboro native stated. “Just being able to fight back in New Jersey feels good. I really have to take my hat off to the amount of supporters who have already committed to coming out to this fight.”

Mike Gavronski vs. Thomas Awimbono this Saturday

Super middleweights Mike Gavronski and Thomas Awimbono will meet in the 10-round main event of Battle at the Boat 108 on Saturday at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Wash.

Gavronski is coming off a victory over previously undefeated Jake Carr and brings a record of 21-2-1 with 14 KOs into the bout, while Awimbono, a native of Ghana who will be making his United States debut in the fight, is 25-4-1 with 21 knockouts and has won 18 consecutive fights, last losing nearly seven years ago.

Awimbono to Make U.S. Debut at Battle at the Boat 108

Ghana’s Thomas Awimbono will make his U.S. boxing debut on Nov. 19 when he faces fellow super middleweight Mike Gavronski in the main event of Battle at the Boat 108 at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Wash.

It’s been nearly seven years since the 25-year-old Awimbono (25-4-1, 21 KOs) last tasted defeat. After losing by decision to undefeated Thomas Oosthuizen, who is currently ranked among the world’s top 10 light heavyweights, in a bout for the WBA Pan African super middleweight crown, Awimbono has been on a tear, winning 18 consecutive fights with 17 of those victories coming via knockout.

Mike Gavronski vs. Thomas Awimbono on Nov.19

Mike Gavronski rebounded from a rare defeat by scoring an impressive victory his last time out. The super middleweight will now look to make it consecutive victories when he faces Thomas Awimbono in the main event of Battle at the Boat 108 at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Wash. on Nov. 19.

Gavronski came back from a 14-month layoff to knockout previously undefeated Jake Carr, a former Australian super middleweight champion, on Sept. 10 to improve his career mark to 21-2-1 with 14 KOs. It was the Tacoma residents first time back in the ring since he lost to Dashon Johnson in 2011 in a bout for the vacant WBA-NABA United States super middleweight championship.
