Jo Jo Dan - Once-beaten Jamal James (21-1, 9 KOs) scored a unanimous decision victory over former title challenger Jo Jo Dan (36-5, 19 KOs) in Premier Boxing Champions on FS1 and FOX Deportes action Saturday night from the newly-renovated NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Standing 6’2″, James was intent on using his length to move around Dan and deliver jabs and power punches off of it it. He had success snapping the head back of Dan throughout the early rounds and built up a lead on the scorecards.

Results: Danny Garcia stops Samuel Vargas

Jo Jo Dan - Danny “Swift” Garcia (33-0, 19 KOs) got his tune-up fight against Samuel Vargas (25-3-1, 13 KOs) out of the way on Saturday night in beating him by a 7th round TKO in front of his Philly fans at the Lacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The 28-year-old Garcia bludgeoned the hapless Vargas against the ropes in the 7th until the fight was halted by referee Gary Rosato. It was too one-sided for Rosato to let the mismatch continue. The official time of the stoppage was at 2:17 of round 7.

Jarrett Hurd faces Jo Jo Dan on 11/12

Undefeated rising star Jarrett Hurd (18-0, 12 KOs) will now match up against former title challenger Jo Jo Dan (35-3, 18 KOs) in a 10-round showdown featured on Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on Spike Saturday, Nov. 12 from Temple University’s Liacouras Center in Philadelphia.

Once-beaten contender Jorge Cota was originally scheduled to face Hurd, but was forced to withdraw after an emergency appendectomy.

Brook defeats Dan; Khomitsky KOs Etches

Kell Brook sent out a chilling warning to his Welterweight rivals by dishing out a devastating four-round beating to mandatory challenger Jo Jo Dan in the first defence of his IBF World title at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield on Saturday night (March 28)

Brook came to the ring to a rapturous reception and rose to the occasion like an elite World ruler. The Sheffield star eased into the opening round and Dan felt the first of many right hands in the second half of the first stanza.

A sign of things to follow came in the second round as Dan hit the canvas early and then again after making the count, both from right uppercuts. The Romanian-Canadian was wobbled once more with a minute to go but gritted his teeth to hear the bell.
