EDMONTON (September 10) – “Irish” Cam O’Connell (12-0-1, 8KOs), the fighting pride of Red Deer, Alberta, turned in yet another impressive performance last night at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, stopping Hungarian Olympian Norbert Kalucza (11-2-0 ) inside three rounds. With the win, O’Connell has fought and won five fights in under a year, setting himself up for bigger and better things in the not too distant future. In the semi-main event, surging light heavyweight prospect Ryan Ford (8-0-0, 5 KOs) of Edmonton continued to turn heads against Victor Manuel Palacios (13-13-2, 8KOs) by taking a six round unanimous decision. “I was in there with a very tough, experienced, durable opponent,” Ford stated after the fight. “I have lots of work left to do, but it’s on to the next one!” Prior to the fight Ford stated he was willing to face any light heavyweight in the nation.
