A packed house at Madison Square Garden, New York, NY watched two of the best P4P fighters in the world demonstrate their greatness. Both fighters faced what many thought would be their biggest challenges to date. Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez 44-0-0 (38KO) seems to slice and dice his opponents. His punches are so accurate and sharp. His attack is relentless.
The way he cuts off the ring is a thing of beauty. He is like a mongoose darting this way and that way, in and out, leaving bite marks every time the distance allows. There is no let up and soon the prey (Viloria) starts “numbing up”. His legs start failing him. His reflexes slow, and leave him in harms way. He tries to step away and get a breath, but it’s as though his pursuer is attached to him.
K2 Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions today hosted the final press conference for the Golovkin vs. Lemieux undercard prior to Saturday’s stellar sold-out night of boxing set for the Mecca of Boxing, Madison Square Garden and produced and distributed live on HBO Pay-Per-View on October 17. Roberto Duran, Panamanian former world champion in four weight classes, and one of the greatest boxers of all time, also stopped by the undercard press conference. He reflected briefly on his storied career and named Madison Square Garden as the home of his most memorable fights. Duran also spoke about his excitement for the fantastic bouts schedule for the Golovkin vs. Lemieux undercard on Saturday, October 17.
On the undercard of Saturday’s eagerly anticipated Golovkin/Lemieux middleweight unification fight, veteran flyweight and former 2 division titlist, Brian Viloria, faces the prospect of dethroning one of the sports best P4P fighters in the undefeated Roman ‘Chocalatito’ Gonzalez, and claims he is more than ready to turn the spotlight firmly on the ‘little guys’ with his performance.
Consensus #1 Pound For Pound Fighter in Boxing and WBC Flyweight World Champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez, (43-0, 37KOs) and four-time former world champion in two-weight divisions Brian “The Hawaiian Punch” Viloria (36-4, 22KOs) visited Madison Square Garden, “The Mecca of Boxing” today for the first time in anticipation of their championship battle this Saturday night, Oct. 17.

One fight hardcore fans are getting excited about along with all the upcoming treats this October and November, is the big flyweight clash that will take place on the Golovkin/Lemieux HBO PPV bill from Madison Square Garden, between Nicaraguan P4P star Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (43-0, 37ko) and America’s “Hawaiian Punch” Brian Viloria (36-4, 22ko).
Even though the American former champ at fly and super fly is approaching 35 years old, he is still considered one of the most credible tests for the unbeaten Gonzalez, and has warned that he is far from “past-best,” promising that he still carries one of the hardest digs in the lower weight classes and cannot wait for fight night.
