MGM´s Martin Murray has secured the fight he was aiming towards; he will be fighting George Groves in a domestic clash like none other on 25th June at the O2, London, live on Sky Sports Box Office. He will be chief support to Anthony Joshua’s IBF world heavyweight title defence.

MGM are very pleased to announce their latest signing with highly regarded super-middleweight Martin Murray. The former British, Commonwealth, WBC Silver and WBA interim middleweight champion, and four-time world title challenger has signed a management contract with MGM.
MGM´s newly signed Gary Sweeney will be making his pro-debut in South Africa on 19th September on the undercard to Hekkie Budler who will defend his WBA and IBO minimum weight titles against Simphiwe Khonco.
Middleweight contender Matthew Macklin returns to action in Marbella next month as he kicks off a 3 fight
plan that he believes will lead to World title glory. The former Irish, British and European Champion and three
time World title challenger will headline an MGM Promotions black tie dinner event at the H10 Andalucía Plaza
Hotel in Puerto Banús on August 28th with two further outings planned before the end of the year.
MGM can also proudly announce that they have made another management signing; that of Craig O’Brien
from Dublin who made his pro-debut in February and has already notched up 2 out of 2 victories.
Craig will be joining MGM to get his career on track and to get him to where he wants to go. He will be sticking
with his trainer Niall Bryne and training in Dublin.
This weekend sees the return of MGM’s very own Matthew Macklin to the ring; he is fighting in a highly anticipated match on Saturday night in Birmingham. Macklin is up against Ferenc Albert and he has already set his sights higher. He needs to win on Saturday to be in with a chance of pressing forward for his next world title fight, and he has identified WBO middleweight champion Andy Lee.
It’s not just MGM’s Derry Mathews who will be in the ring on Saturday night in the ECHO arena in Liverpool; also fighting in a sensational fight card is MGM’s Liam Smith who will face Argentina’s David Ezequiel Romero for the Vacant WBO Intercontinental Light-Middleweight Championship. And Joe Selkirk and Iain Butcher are also in on the action. Liam has been hard at work since his last TKO victory on 6th March and is expecting to add another title to his name. “I am looking forward to picking up another title and moving up the rankings a spot or two,” he said.
Two more Signings for MGM Today it can now be confirmed MGM has signed 2 further management contracts with Stephen Simmons and David Brophy.
The undefeated cruiserweight boxer Stephen Simmons is currently in training at MGM Marbella in the lead up to his big fight in April. Simmons is fighting on 4th April in Newcastle for the WBC International Cruiserweight belt, he is up against John Lewis Dickinson.
