GB Boxing selects four women to compete at European Championships in Romania

GB BOXING has selected four women from the world class performance programme to compete in the forthcoming EUBC European Women’s Boxing Championships in Bucharest, Romania (31 May – 7 June 2014).

The selection includes 2012 Olympic gold medallist, Nicola Adams, who will be defending the title she won in Rotterdam in 2011 as she bids to become the first ever British women to become a two-time European Champion.

Super-heavyweight thriller concludes England Boxing National Finals

A thrilling super-heavyweight contest, which saw Joyce defeat Frazer Clarke, climaxed the 127th England Boxing Elite Men’s National Finals 2014 at the Echo Arena Liverpool as 10 national champions were crowned.

The bout, which saw Joyce defeat his colleague from the GB Boxing squad Frazer Claire to secure a second national title, was the It was the culmination of three-days of boxing following a re-vamp of the final stages of the completion which saw the quarter-finals, semis and finals held on consecutive days.

GB Boxers to compete in England Boxing’s Men’s Elite National Finals

ENGLAND BOXING has confirmed that one quarter-final place in each weight category at this year’s Senior Elite Men’s Finals will be reserved for a nominated English boxer from the GB Boxing squad.

The decision aims to ensure the elite finals have the strongest available field of entrants and deliver the best possible showcase of young English boxing talent.

Sky Sports to televise England Boxing’s Elite Men’s Finals 2014

SKY Sports has signed an agreement with England Boxing to televise the 127th Elite Men’s National Finals which will be held at the Echo Arena Liverpool on the weekend of 25-27 April 2014.

In a revamp of the latter stages of the competition, the quarter-finals, semis and finals will be held over three consecutive days of competition in the 5,000 plus seater Arena.
