What other choice did he have???? He had none. It’s not like he was going to get a fight with Floyd unless he fought a reputable opponent. And the only real option he had was Trout!!! He would have looked foolish still gunning for a fight with Cotto who has loss two in a row!!!!Posted March 16, 2013 9:26 pm
Trout wins: easily out boxing canelo did you see the cut mosley put over canelos eye just wait until a younger faster full jr. middleweight get ahold of him. sorry canelo you made a big mistake say bye bye to your belt.Posted March 16, 2013 9:18 pm
The El Paso Fight Prophet
I have summed up the the fight and have determined that Canelo has enough speed and power to catch the slippery trout and wear him down. Trout beat Canelos bro who is C level at best, Canelo however is A grade and will put the Trout in shock when he lands to the Body. The stage will be set here for mayweather to pass the torch to the next cash cow, and trout is defininately not a cash cow.Posted March 16, 2013 7:45 pm
Tells me the kid is 22 and has the tools and he’ll be around longer than Trout.Posted March 16, 2013 7:23 pm
He really wanted Floyd, but instead is fighting your man Trout, who just happened to be the man that owned the original old man he wanted to fight in the first place?
If he was old and battered up why was Alvarez trying to fight him????? I feel like his back was up against the wall and he really had no choice but to fight Trout. He would have looked foolish fighting Cotto even though that’s who he really wanted then he wanted Floyd!!!!Posted March 16, 2013 2:29 am
Trout beat an old washed up battered Cotto.
That’s a scalp?
Alverez will dominate from the center of the square!Posted March 16, 2013 12:33 am
I felt Trout beat Cotto well. Maybe I was watching a different fight than most. Of course Cotto had his moments; but they were FAR AND FEW. That fight was not close; sorry. I give Trout a huge chance in this fight and I for one will be pulling for him. He is extremely humble. He doesn’t brag; he’s not out here making demands, he is just fighting the best fighters available to him and who are willing to fight him. I also give Canelo credit for taking this fight because to be honest I didn’t think he would and I also thought him and his team was going to still go through with the fight with Cotto based on the way they were acting after Trout beat Cotto.Posted March 15, 2013 9:46 pm
Tough fight for Canelo, don’t see him winning, kudos to Canelo for taking a tough underated opponent.Posted March 15, 2013 7:45 pm
The Mad Scientist
I agree, if Miguel Cotto who was at a disadvantage in every physical category you can think of can get to Trout so will Canelo but with much more ease.Posted March 15, 2013 7:35 pm
I don’t know why people are hyping this fight so much. I see Canelo winning easily. Trout only beat Cotto. Cotto has’nt won a significant fight since Clottey. He lost to almost every elite fighter and the one’s he beat were very close. Some of the not so elite fighters had him in trouble. I have a lot of respect for Clout, but I don’t see this lasting past 8 rounds.Posted March 15, 2013 6:15 pm
I cant see Canelo outhustling Trout with a sustained body attack. I think Trout will use his range, size and power properly – possibly tying him up when he tries to get inside….kinda like the Holyfield-Tyson debacle. This should be a good fight, 2 undefeated primed determined dudes laying it on the line. Canelo needs to get to that body to slow him down – how he gets in ‘constantly’ remains to be seen, even though he has fast combos, he seems to plod a bit coming in, which can make him telegraphic for a sharpshooter or a counter puncher. I think Trout is more the rangy sharpshooter kind…. we’ll see.Posted March 15, 2013 5:32 pm
I’m rooting for Trout in this fight. Got a feeling he might be the guy to derail Mayweather. Don’t think Floyd will fight him to be honest. He really came on the scene after beating Cotto because he dominated that fight.Posted March 15, 2013 5:13 pm
