It is the way a fighter loses that really matters. If Bute loses, much in the same way, against Pascal, as he did against Froch, which is a possibility, when looking at Butes fights with Froch, Grachev and earlier Andrade, he is done, game over. If Bute stays on his feet against Pascal, he can say that Lhw wasn’t for him, he will now concentrate on Smw. Like you said. We all know that only a good performance against Pascal, will save Butes carreer. Like someone said though, Bute can’t mix it with Kessler, Froch, Ward and Abraham anyways.

Purely cash driven from Bute he’s found out that he is far from world class so he’s gone for a big domestic pay day at LHW.If he looses he will say he was too small and gets another crack at SMW,if he wins which I doubt he will he gets the option of fighting lesser lights at either weight.i would like to see him v DeGale or Groves.

I get the last two arguments: I don’t have any faith in Bute anymore, due to the decisions of his team. If you are so scared that you are afraid to take on Froch, at home, and redeem yourself, by losing, in a dignified manner (Bute can’t do as bad again, against Froch) -you need to stop. Pascal will not be easier for Bute than Froch.

but by moving up to 175, he “escapes” to deal with bigger and stronger guys than froch – makes no sense except for the money – a cash out fight.

As long as he stayed at 168 he would have forever lived under the shadow of being KOd by Froch and, even worse, of having forced Froch to sign a rematch clause that, after the fact, did not look very appealing. The psychological strain is just to big. By moving to 175 he escapes having to fight Froch imminently. Although Pascal is no joke either, but at least he’s not as relentless as Froch.

Mick the Marmalizer

Bute should man up & challenge Commonwealth champion George Groves!

Killing Moon The Soothsayer

I think it’s pretty clear that talent-wise LHW is not SMW…..They’ll prolly steer him away from the hardest punchers in the div….Maybe Bute is aiming for Ol’ man Hopkins….He was proven a hype-job…..But it’s the right move to redeem himself in another Div…So well done Bute.

After the Froch fight, in Nottingham, Bute should have taken 3 hard warm up fights, in Smw, and then claim the rematch against Froch, in Canada. For a top 10 Smw fighter to duck a rematch against Froch, in Canada, just says it all. A Lhw fight against Pascal, is far from logical. If Bute pulls this off, big surprise, if not -game over.

Pascal has a good chin, a good punch and good speed. If he takes it to Bute from the get go, he’ll knock him out at some point.

why would Bute do better at light-heavy than super-middle? maybe a big payday before he cashes out of boxing?

Pascal is fast and explosive. I think I am leaning towards him.

Bute has no shoulder problem…

For Bute to go to the uninteresting Lhw division, from the glamorous Smw division, could mean that he has no faith in his ability, anymore, or that he has trouble with weight. Pascal, is a problematic opponent. He is too strong.

Pascal will end Bute’s career.

Bute is done, was a hype job that everyone thought would KO Ward. Turns out that it was wishful thinking.
