see already dirrell is taking what he thinks is the easy way .abraham is the weakest of the champs in that division. now there nothing wrong per say with wanting atitle from the the weakest champ in that division . but dirrell constantly wants it that way .he wouldnt go all out and win the fight with froch . I think he faked against abraham then pulled out against ward . now he hasnt even come back and he wants the easy way again . it seems apattern with the guy talentent but dont know if he has that champion heart

Dirrell is a fine talent, but whats going on with him. He has wasted years of his best time, doing what exactly. If Dirrell is the 2010 Dirrell, he is a top 4 smw.

Do you seriously think 2012 King Arthur can survive a fight with Kessler? 2012 Abraham is not the 2010 Abraham. Abraham is furthermore not a smw. This is Kesslers dream, to meet a powerless AA, as a tuneup for Froch. In fact, the perfect ending of Kesslers time. I have no doubt Kessler will beat AA and Froch, and go out as a legend.

im a fan of dirrell but just because he beat abraham doesn’t mean he’s entitled to a shot…dude needs to get busy in 2012 and realize his potential..abraham is clearly the weakest of the super middle champs….168 is a loaded division…unless he faces a soft touch dude will lose it in his first defense..real talk

It was sad to see the fight end how it did. I thought Abraham was coming on strong in the later rounds and I didn’t discount the possibility of Dirrell getting KO;ed.

Abraham?? The guy Dirrell already outboxed. What about Dirrell vs. Ward? or Dirrell vs. Froch? Granted Dirrell will need some tune ups.

@TARD: Pavlik, is that the guy out of rehab ?

Dirrell is doable for Abraham, with some minor adjustments. This time, he won’t be fighting in his own backyard, with his personal bodyguard the ref protecting him when Abraham closes in on him, conveniently not counting knockdowns, and counting a forearm pushdown by the throat as “legal knockdown”. This time, Sauerland is selecting the judges and ref.

Froch is a different kind of obstacle, as is Ward, he should stay away from them if he doesn’t make major improvements in the tactics department.

Froch beat up Dirrell like he owed him money. Abraham stopped Dirrel with a pitty pat. Forget this loser.

Is Dirrel the same boy who faked fainting when Abraham slapped him while he as sitting or was he on his knees?

boxing barlow

I think the reality is that Abraham has his shot at super stardom and to go down as a legend. And fair play to him he took the shot and entered the super six, when he could have stayed at middle weight riding the gravy train. However he came up short and now is going towards the end of his career. He’s managed to grab an alphabelt title and now is going to milk it for all its worth for the next two years until he retires. That means it will be poor defences, low risk, topping up his retirement fund. Or it will be a mega pay day. And I think the only mega pay day thats out there for his is Kessler.

I see NO value in Dirrell re-matching Abraham as Abraham was already clearly beaten by Dirrell before being fouled. Dirrell would be better off getting himself re-known by fighting for a belt elsewhere.

Irishny, I agree. In my opinion, and if anyone bothers to review Froch-Dirrell, it is clear that Froch was a dirty fighter against Dirrell by hitting on the break, hitting after the bell, holding Dirrell or the ropes while hitting, rabbit-punching and Froch threw Dirrell down out of frustration. Froch tried the same tactics against Ward but Ward was having none of it. I fault Dirrell for allowing Froch to foul him without making him pay for in the ways Ward did.

AA was catching Dirrell with some big shots late in their fight. Andre couldnt handle the pressure or the shots, thats why he was flopping all over in the ring. AA would have got him out of there if Andre was allowed back up.

Abraham will still be beaten by the same guys that beat him before. Regardless, there’s no reason at this time for Abraham to even consider fighting Dirrell–and he probably doesn’t ever want to fight Dirrell again. However, if Dirrell will go out and get himself a title, maybe then Abraham will give him another look. But until then, why should he? Dirrell is ranked anywhere between 5th and 7th as a super middleweight contender. Abraham just took a title from a champion. Dirrell needs to work himself up to a #1 contender position, then it will be very hard for Abraham to avoid him. Thing is, I don’t think Abraham is going to hold on to his title very long unless he makes a point of avoiding anyone who can or has already beat him.

Dont agree irishny- Dirrell-Froch was a disgrace by both fighters and the fans who paid at the gate should have got their money back. The Abraham fight was a boxing lesson by Dirrell until he showed he doesnt have the heart of a champ. At this point Dirrell needs to beat a name fighter to get his name back on the map before he calls out any of the champs. I think his brother is better than him.

I want Dirrell vs Pavlik or Kessler.. Pavlik is possible.. Kessler is next to impossible.. Abraham is impossible.

Posted August 26, 2012 5:51 pm

The Gimp beat both Froch and AA. Making AA look like an amateur. Was green as grass and still beat Froch in his hometown. A Gimp would be Bute and Froch, AA, and Kessler were exposed as journeyman in the Super 6 by Ward.

I think Abraham would fight Dirrell again. He would be fighting him in Berlin and so Dirrell wud have to knock him out to get a draw. Be careful what you wish for Andre.

Posted August 26, 2012 5:04 pm

Why should he have to earn the right to fight someone hes already beaten??

Posted August 26, 2012 4:31 pm

In the opinions of many(myself included), Dirrell has already beaten Froch. He was teeing off on Froch in the later rounds.
And he was handling Abraham easily before Abraham decided to punch him when his guard was down and he was on one knee. Lets not forget he HAS beaten Abraham already!

I think his resume is pretty decent!

Posted August 26, 2012 4:28 pm

Dirrell … Dirrell … I somewhere heard that name before … wasn’t he a boxer in 2009 ???

Posted August 26, 2012 4:04 pm

The Kingslayer

Has Dirrell even figured out what his doctors name is yet ?

Posted August 26, 2012 3:32 pm

Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Dirrell is a chicken quitter, he ran all night from Froch and then cried robbery, then quit when it got tough against Abraham. Why are we still talking about him?

Posted August 26, 2012 3:16 pm

Has this gimp Dirrell always had brain damage? He is a nothing fighter who fakes injury in the ring to stopped be knocked out and before that fight froch in reverse but he did no want to fight. This bum is no fighter. Don’t bother coming to Europe again. Stay over on the other side on the pond it be safer for your fragile skull and brain Gimp

Posted August 26, 2012 2:52 pm

It’s Me, Ernie…

Are you kidding? Froch will pulverize Dirrell at this point. Dirrell has next to nothing on his resume as far as top opponents.

Posted August 26, 2012 2:46 pm

yeah i don’t see Abraham taking on Dirrell again. He got out-boxed badly in their encounter. On the other hand Abraham is going to have to get used to the idea of being outworked by active-boxer types( i.e. he has to train himself to make the adjustments and get off first if he intends to keep defending his belts against some pretty tough opposition) and beating Dirrell would be sweet for him. Personally, I’m hoping for a Abraham v Pavlik or Abraham v Sturm fight in the near future.

Abraham will never fight Dirrell. Dirrell should pursue a fight with Froch. Even though Dirrell easily outclassed Froch the first time, Froch is stubborn enough to fight him again anyway.

Posted August 26, 2012 1:28 pm

Dirrell would make Abraham even more of his Armenian b*tch this time round. Abraham and his promoter won’t want any part of this fight.

Dirrell needs to earn his rematch !

Posted August 26, 2012 12:51 pm

I would like to see kessler vs Abraham, what a brutal fight that would be.
