It’s Me, Ernie…

I hope you’re correct, Rachman may still have the tools…

the voice of reason

its a shame it wasnt holyfield fighting cos i feel he would do a number on povetkin. Rahman though? he was once a very serious fighter but now i think its too late. good luck to the guy though

haye would destroy povetkin, but wont get a fight with him. i can only hope rahman knocks him out. (and i am not a fan of haye or rahman…)

Rahman: No you won’t.

Pov should knock out this over the hill HW. How did Rahman get a shot anyway??
Pov has nothing to do with Rahman being number one in WBA regular. Should
be a TKO for Alexander. Then Pov can entertain David Haye in a match.

Povetkin should not even have a title in the first place. he only got his title by ducking a Klit. brother anyway.

then maybe they should fight each other instead of living off of the American heavyweights of the past who have made a name for themselves.

Popkins – Boycott Pacquiao v Bradley 2

….hhhhmmmmmm. I very much doubt it. In Rahman’s prime, like ten years ago, a Rahman/Pov fight would have been worth watching, quite competitive. Not now.

Kid Blast

And I might win the lottery

Povetkin will destroy rahman. Easy win for the champion, all rahman wants was a payday I dont think he is intrested in the title

clue giver

Pulev, Fury, Price, Ustinov, Haye, Helenius, Dimitrenko, Gerber, and Charr all stink? I don’t think so.

Posted August 17, 2012 2:10 pm

Povetkin is forced to fight an aging American heavyweight, because out side of the Klitschkos most of the young European heavyweights kind of stink.

Posted August 17, 2012 12:54 pm

let’s just hope rahman lands something

Posted August 17, 2012 12:36 pm

I’m less worried about Rahman’s attitude than I am Povetkin’s unwillingness to take a meaningful fight.

This fight is a joke. Of course Povetkin is in a cheery mood. This fight will be the equivalent of a walk in the park.

But here’s to hoping he trips in the park.

Also, EU?

Neil (pomy)

This is just a payday for Rahman.

Delusional and only in it for the payday. As for Pov, Huck beat him. He is also a loser.

I used to like Rahman. Hes been in with everyone, but nowadays hes waaaaay past it. A prime Rahman would destroy this twatt but now…i think its all about some extra money for him…

Pitty the fool

Rahman, the biggest loser in Hw boxing in terms of what was tangibly in front of him!
Ko’d Lewis, was offered 17million by Showtime, turned it down – got ko’d by Lewis and now broke. Fool

I can sympathize with Rahman about the poster. After all, which one of the two has actually ever been heavyweight champion of the world?

Posted August 17, 2012 3:06 am

KS says it’s an exciting fight and that the winner will get shot at Wlad……….well, he’ll be dead wrong if Rahman captures lightning in a bottle, because there is no way in hell that Wlad is giving Rahman another fight. He doesnt have enough time left in his career to string together a handful of solid wins to even become relevant again.

Seriously though…..If Sasha is fit to fight hard for 12 rds, Rahman aint winning.

Posted August 17, 2012 2:46 am

IF Rahman comes in below 240 and has EXCELLENT conditioning he MIGHT win.

Posted August 16, 2012 10:51 pm

Agreed, he showed a heap of promise in his early career.
I honestly think he should shock everyone and put a challenge to Vitali instead of Wlad. I don’t think he has a chance against Wlad… his methodical style just doesn’t match up well. But against Vitali (i.e. a fighter more willing to sit in the pocket) I think he’d stand more of a chance. He wouldn’t necessarily win, but his style definitely matches up better (and the fight would be more exciting anyway).
Another fight I wouldn’t mind in the meantime would be a Povetkin-Solis fight. Both are Olympic gold medalists from the same Olympics (but obviously different weight divisions… though their weight differences have flipped since then :P) and both have similarities in their styles. Would be interesting.

Povetkin is such a disappointment. He started his career out great, but by refusing to fight a Klitschko I can’t take him seriously. I also think Huck won their fight. But with that being said Rahman is too far past it. Povetkin by TKO.

Brazilian Boxing Fan

I think Povetkin will win.

Who is the bigger joke? The wba “champ” Povetkin or the washed up never was Rahman back for yet one more shot…. How does the “champ” waste a year and get up for a fight like this? Answer: a paltry paycheck. Pathetic.

Posted August 16, 2012 7:57 pm

pffft. Rahman couldn’t beat many in the top 100 let alone the povetkin, who, while a puss, is still a solid fighter. Povetkin TKO 4. Hopefully Rahman will then retire but I am sure he will not.

The Kingslayer

Yeah sure Rahman and tonight Eva Mendes will feed me grapes in bed.

Rahman is very much like Toney – A comedian making a joke statement.

Another wannabe American being schooled by a EU boxer.
