It’s Me, Ernie

Nonito and Boner have never faced an opponent with that amount of speed. Bums for the most part, no greats to speak of.

Gary has been a pro for 4 years now it is time for him to make the step to the next level. If you look at past olympians most of the ones that became champions did it in their second year and by the fourth or fifth year had already defended their titles several times.

There might have to be a catchweight even if Donaire campaigns at 126 in 2013, because Gary isn’t planning on sticking around the Featherweight division very much longer. I’m not sure of this, but the impression I got when interviewing him on Tuesday was that he will more than likely jump up to 130 as soon as he wins the 126 pound title. I think it’s becoming increasingly difficult to make the Featherweight limit with each outing…last night he weighed in at 126.8.

I would love to see Gary Russell Jr. Vs Donair at a catch weight of 124 lb.

I agree that it can be, but no one cares how good Russell Jr looks against the unknowns or bums of the sport. I think its time for Russell Jr to take off the training wheels and step in with a live opponent or top contender. All the protecting fighters till they get a title shot is getting old. Right now Russell Jr is another Rico Ramos until he grows some nuts.
