unfair referee in the 6 round fight between aleem and rojas. where was the outrage from teddy atlas?

Posted August 15, 2014 8:26 pm

did anyone notice how unfair the ref was towards Juan Carlos Rojas by deducting a point for who knows what? Its interesting that Teddy Atlas didn’t rant and rage about the premature stoppage in favor of Aleem. Teddy Atlas seems to only rant and rage about injustice and fairness if it relates to a boxer he favors. I’m sorry but there seemed to be some bias against that boxer from Mexico.

for all you know nothings lol…an illegal hit like that from Abraham would put all of us all to sleep!

Posted August 5, 2014 3:56 pm

Not a fan of Dirrel at all. I kinnda liked him against Froch, but too much holding and running and crying… then I gave him the benefit of the doubt against King Arthur Abraham… Oh my… the dramatics killed it for me,…….

Solid B or C level fighter.

The Sheriff

People have Dirrell WAAAAY overrated. Usain Bolt is a great athlete, but never the CW champion of the world. Dirrell is a great athlete, but never has and never will be boxing champion of anything.

No HEART. No chin. No determination. No training montage.

Personally I hope he dies of AIDS, malaria and diarrhoea to spare us the whole “If only” rubbish.

Fight Aficionado

I see Andre is wearing that goatee like his brother Anthony. Don’t blame him since he’s most famous for excessively holding, running and crying against Froch while his brother is best known as a skilled puncher who beat cancer. Maybe people will mistake who he is.

I would like to see Ward-Dirrell… If Dirrell can get wins over guys like Groves and Kessler first — which shouldn’t be a big problem for him. Gonzalez maybe?

Don’t fight these 3rd rate punks… That’s chickenshlt.

Chesse Cake IN MTL

Happy to know Dirrel is fighting (and hope he does it more now). He’s a beautiful talent to watch.

Posted August 4, 2014 12:44 pm

Dirrell is wallowing around in the gutters fighting nobodies. He was once a world-class talent. He needs to make up his mind if he truly wants to be a boxer or not.

Great to see one of my favorite boxer-punchers back in action. Hope you get a title shot in 2015 Andre! Technically so sound and close to perfection, it’s almost painful to think of all the lost years since the Abraham fight.

You can’t shine against a bum.. Even if you end it in 36 seconds.. You can only shine against an appropriate opponent.

Posted August 3, 2014 5:51 pm

Dirrell is fighting bums… and not too many of them.

He fought one bum last year … and one bum this year.

Posted August 3, 2014 5:28 pm

And sph…he beat Froch drrrr

Posted August 3, 2014 3:37 pm

Welcome back Andre!

Posted August 3, 2014 3:37 pm

Dirrell will not ever be a fan favorite!- he needs to take a page from the Mickey Ward book on humility.

sean patrick harrington

Anon. Ward is the best smw now and Froch is second. Dirrel should not even be mentioned as he has never beat a top fighter ever.

Posted August 3, 2014 2:21 pm

is he as good as kelly brook.

– So 99.9999999 of all boxers are not boxers? LOL!
– So who was good during the super 6? Abraham? LOL!

agree gus Williams should watch klitsko/lewis. now that was a cut.

Posted August 3, 2014 12:29 pm

Williams is no Bassilio, Algeria, Ward, and many other fighters whose names escape me who toughed it out under much tougher conditions . He caved very easily. Campillo is just the better fighter , Williams saw what was coming and found the reason to quit.

Andre Dirrell world champ in 2015 no doubt, one of the most talented boxer, and he has power too, and I’m not American, just a fan of great boxing since 30 years

Posted August 3, 2014 3:43 am

dirrl was not that good.

Posted August 2, 2014 11:31 pm

boxing barlow

Andre Dirrell is the biggest waste of boxing talent perhaps ever in my book. This guys has the skills to be anall time great. Its his personlpersonality which lets him down.

campillo owned Williams, he was the man.

Swedish Boxing Fan

That was unexpected to see Thomas Williams Jr lose to former WBA world light heavyweight champion Gabriel Campillo, especally by TKO in 5th round!

But I must give Campillo the upper hand and congratulate the former champion for a great performance and victory. I mean Campillo have had sufferd a lot in recent years with controversial decision and not given the nod by the judges.
# Karo Murat 2x disputed decisions (1 Draw & 1 MD loss),
# Beibut Shumenov (SD loss)
# Tavoris Cloud (SD loss)

Like I said, he have had a tough time with the judges. Campillo is not the best light heavyweight boxer by far BUT he is a good boxer and delivers good performances and deserves good credit.

This time, he was awarded in the ring and in the process he prooved that previus undefeated prospect and well ranked Thomas Williams Jr was just not ready for the bigger stage. Williams Jr showed many flaws in his mentality this night and Campillo took the best of him.

Again, congratulations to Gabriel Campillo for your victory in a great performance and your new #2 world rank position by IBF.

Occams Razor

Crystal Bollocks: that is silly putting those boxers in the one basket to suit your ignorant racism. You remind me of Archie Bunker. Does your girl look like Edith?

Crystal Ball

Williams tanked it like a punk. What has happened to all the tough, warrior African/Americans of the 70’s/80’s? This new breed are all running, clinching, loud mouthed pu.$$.ies. Hopkins, Mayweather, Ward, Dirrell, Broner, Jennings etc. There are too many to mention and its a fargin joke. This is the sort of produce the USA is manufacturing these days, genuine pea hearts full of talk but can’t swag the walk.

Posted August 2, 2014 8:50 pm

good job by Campillo, he broke Williams.

Posted August 2, 2014 8:45 pm

one eye

Campillo koed loss and written off, well done .

Posted August 2, 2014 7:15 pm

Biosse is a gatekeeper type, Dirrell winning doesn’t mean much. He goes against a top fighter, he’ll slip n slide n suck like he used to do.

Posted August 2, 2014 6:55 pm

Campillo doesn’t get the props he deserves. Schooled Shumenov and Cloud, but didn’t get the decision.

Posted August 2, 2014 4:54 pm

Top dog my azz! He quit like a chump
