Figueroa did not win that fight. He has a very porous defense and will get KO’d by the 1st fighter listed in the top ten at the bottom of the list. He sounded intelligent in the post fight interview and would be wise to get into another line of work before he gets his brains scrambled.

Another Bogus win for the hyped house Chihuahua. No way that feather fisted Mexican won.

Ricky Burns is going to fight on, he will target Figueroa to pick up another belt.

Hate to say it, but I think Belmontes won this fight. Omar looked very, very beatable. I shudder to think what would have happened to the champ if Belmontes could punch.

I think so too, very beatable.

One thing for sure is Figueroa is very beatable and nothing too special, throughs a lot but defence is non existent and a KO puncher will ice him for sure, nice managment so far.

Pugfan, agreed, he lost himself the fight, I thinkm he was unsure of doing the 12 rounds he had never gone above 10 before so maybe he was pacing himself too much.

If Belmontes had stepped on the gas he could have won that but 118-110 WTF?

I had it a draw. Belmontes fought a very intelligent war. I’d love to see him again.

This fight should have been a draw. Figueroa landed more; but Belmontes punches were MORE EFFECTIVE from what I witnessed. The problem I saw with Belmontes was that he kept trying to load up all night; but in my opinion he smothered a lot of his punches because he was too afraid of getting caught if he fought from a distance. Belmontes was a much better BOXER than him and he knew that going in I will assume because he beat him FIVE TIMES as an amateur.

Belmontes fought like De La Hoya did in the last 4 rounds of his bout with Trinidad. run run run.

Didn’t score the fight but from what I see on the score cards they gave no love to Belmontes. I thought he won a fair share of rounds. But he also wasn’t moving his hands enough either. Figueroa isn’t gonna be much in my opinion.
