Froch will smack this boy….againPosted March 19, 2014 5:11 am
“Groves is playing mind games. Maybe he’s doing that to boost the gate but it’s already a sell out in an 80,000 seat stadium… ”
Froch seems to be the one playing mind games so far. He is the one pushing Groves around at press conferences, bringing his mouthy brothers with him, refusing to do head to heads for the media with Groves, telling Groves that he has a “spy in his camp,” saying Groves “breath stinks,” calling Groves “Mr Idiot Boy.” All on Sky news, check it out on youtube.
Groves is just confident.. So far all he has done is solve a Rubik’s Cube at the Wembley press conference while Froch was talking.Posted March 18, 2014 6:19 pm
Tark…Wilder to mature for that, knows one false move can stop him from being champ…what about chocking the hooker in Vagas?? Maybe it was even a set-up I dont know…but you cant put yourself in that position.Posted March 18, 2014 2:51 pm
Mick the Marmalizer
What’s the point of the BBBofC sanctioning this fight for the British H/W championship when it’s going to be automatically relinquished? Neither boxer is ever likely to defend it thus gaining the appropriate notches to win the Lonsdale belt out-right, so why? Okay there #1 & #2 in the UK @ the weight, but the idea is to win the belt for keeps & not just vacate.Posted March 18, 2014 3:54 am
Groves had Froch sh it ting his pants for 3-4 rounds in a way noone else has. He`d won almost every round up to the stoppage.
He`s just got more experienced, and Froch has just got a little older.
I see Froch breaking him down late, but I can see where Groves see light at the end of the tunnell.Posted March 17, 2014 9:55 pm
The Carl Froch vs George Groves fight is setting up to be an interesting battle… Groves is playing mind games. Maybe he’s doing that to boost the gate but it’s already a sell out in an 80,000 seat stadium… Ticket scalpers will have a field day because the stadium isn’t big enough to contain all the fans who want to buy tickets.
If Groves could score an early KO and not take too much punishment—a Ward fight could be held in Wembley Stadium in September. It would be a shame to put it off until next year. Groves says it’s going to be over in 3 rounds, and he will hit Froch whenever and wherever he wants, “On the nose, in the mouth, on the ear, in the ribs.” He says Froch knows he can’t possibly win.
Watching the first fight I don’t really get where all that confidence is coming from.. Groves was dishing some really big hits.. He was taking some hard punches too.. But to hear him tell it, he was dominating the whole way.Posted March 17, 2014 9:27 pm
Peter McNeeley was stopped in the 1st round by Butterbean.
McNeeley never beat anyone remotely as good as Malik Scott… Sergei Liakhovich… or even Audley Harrison.
Peter McNeeley is the type of guy who wanted to fight people he thought cut him off in traffic… He was one insecure punk… Deontay is a little volatile. He does have a temper… but he’s a lot more mature than that.
He’s like Mike Tyson… Wilder will walk up to somebody and make them crap their pants… but he would never hit them even if they swung a couple shots… He’s too interested in being Heavyweight Champion and knows one false move can ruin it for him.Posted March 17, 2014 9:04 pm
its a good job that most of the people that watch heavyweight boxing today are no older than sixteen.Posted March 17, 2014 5:45 pm
