Fight Aficionado

If it’s true there’s no negotiations with Maidana then it looks like we’ll get Floyd vs Khan. Either way the only intriguing matches with Floyd are Pac, Thurman, Martinez and GGG and none of these are in discussion so whatever he does I’m not watching.

PACQUIAO is three years past his sell by date period.

Posted January 1, 2014 1:46 pm

Kontiki my friend, I understand fully. Styles have everything to do with fighting. In boxing, you beat your opponents style of fighting. Two fighters do not have the exact style. Some may have similar things they do, but speed, timing, power, athleticism, good/bad habits, balance, reflexes and the ability to see things all vary from fighter to fighter. I mentioned in my previous post that no one beats Manny in one fight, and it was mentioned that he lost to Morales and Bradley. Well, when Manny fought Morales, he was barely a baby in the sport. He didn’t know how to fight yet. The rematches told the story. Manny was dominant. The Bradley fight needs no needs no explanation. Manny was simply robbed and the world agreed. I hope Bradley fights Manny again, and everyone will see Manny KO Bradley. And Ped Man Marquez was a bit of a puzzle, but the reality is Manny beat Marquez 3 straight fights, and was well on his way to a kO until he was caught with the Ped Punch as Manny stepped on Marquez’s foot, fell off balance, Marquez closed his eyes and the lucky punch landed. As you said Kontiki, it could happen to anyone. It’s interesting to see Ped Man Marquez run for his life and turn down the biggest pay day of his life to fight Manny a 5th time. The true act of a coward IMO. The same goes for Floyd Mayweather. Excuse after excuse and now he dumps the belt instead of fighting his number 1 ranked contender, Manny Pacquiao. Manny is simply to good for these guys. No one beats Manny in one fight, no one. Manny is the best.

for me paq or khan fighting floyd results in the same thing for both fighters a loss regardless of skill level diffrence between paq and khan

Id rather see Maidana rematch Khan, then the winner gets the big payday loss vs Mayweather.

Just a boxing fan

FMJ vs Maidana makes more sense.

Garcia vs MP will be a good fight

However, FMJ and MP is the fight that needs to happen!

Manny Got smashed by Marquez lol give it up Hec. Nobody thinks Manny is an all time great except you. Without the PEDS Manny is just average. It showed in the Rios fight. He couldn’t even hurt rios.

Posted January 1, 2014 9:19 am

Hec dog we still waiting on these skills Manny has you speak of, They are not there dude, Bradley, and Marquez beat him in case you forgot, Or maybe we missed something. Skills speed foot work, Floyd has seen it all before. Like I said there is nothing special about Manny there never was, he beat dehydrated fighters like Oscar and Cotto, Margecheato all at welter and these guys are 154lbs, since then he has been on the decline in performance as well as selling fights, Bradley wasnt dominated Marquez put him in snooze land and Rios stood right in front of him and Manny had no power all the guys Manny ever faced was no where near Floyds level. You delusional to compare him to the guys Manny beat, Manny also never beat anyone undefeated not to mention how a guy goes from Koing everybody to having no power left at all? Look at Manny before he moved up in weight back in the days when he fought guys like Erik Moralez. he looked very average nothing special he moved up in weight and all of a sudden he is KOing junior middle weights not only that he is taking there punches I mean this was a guy who been Knocked out as a light weight. People in boxing knew what he was on. Michael Moorer was trained by Roach he he spilled the beans, Manny was exposed thats how the whole P.E.D. issue came up Manny never agreed to random blood and turned down 40 million, because as he put it he was afraid of neddles but he has tattos. Since then two things have happened, the commission came down hard on it and all kinds of fighters where getting caught on the juice. Since then Mannys performances have gone down, He is done without the juice he will be just another average joe like he was as a light weight. How a guy that gets Koed by a lightweight and take punches from Cotto? It was obvious. It just that they dont have random blood testings just urine and some drugs only show up in blood. Manny is clean now and now he gets whopped.

The fight will not happen as Manny and Money will not be able to agree on terms . Namely $$

Hec Dog

Marquez and Bradley fought Manny Pacquiao differently than Floyd is going to. Each fighter has different strengths and tendencies. Bradley and Marquez won’t present the same difficulties against Mayweather than Manny will. You must understand styles better. Manny does things with speed that will present a lot of problems for Floyd. He’s a southpaw with faster hands and feet than Floyd. Floyd is a counter puncher that relies on speed and reflexes. Bradley and Marquez can’t match Floyd with either. Manny Pacquiao can and will. No one can figure out Manny’s style in one fight, no one. Floyd will be perplexed and lost for about 9 rounds before he begins to see any kind of opening or time Manny’s unorthodox punches. He’s going to be in a world of hurt if he dares fight Manny toe to toe, which he might until he gets hit, and get hit he will. Manny has stamina. Floyd’s biggest weapons (speed/counter punching/defense) will be nullified by Manny Pacquiao’s feints, speed and movement. He won’t just give Floyd one look. Those head, foot and hand feints will confuse Floyd in a manner he’s never dealt with. That lead right hand Floyd banks on is going to get him hurt and dropped eventually. His leaning back from a punch won’t work against a high volume speedy fisted fighter like Manny. Floyd will be on efense 3/4 of the fight. he won’t engage once he gets hit once. In the later rounds he will engage out of desperation, but trust me. Manny i going to catch him cold. trust me, I’ve been studying both guys closely.

Posted January 1, 2014 5:01 am

Mayweather has clear NOTHING…. well, a easy rival…

Posted January 1, 2014 4:54 am

Hec dog you talk about Mannys style and tangibles but he had the same weapons and didnt do well or got beat by lesser guys than Floyd. So how can he have a style to beat Floyd but a style that get KOed by Marquez. Bradley didnt get KOed and neither did Rios same style right I am confused maybe you thinking of a different Manny…lol

Posted January 1, 2014 3:48 am

Who cares the reality is Arum owns Manny, Bradley and Ruslans ass. So none of these guys can ever fight Floyd or anyone else outside of top rank, So Floyds real choices are Garcia, Kahn or Maidana. Thurman is still on the rise and hasnt fought anyone yet.

The Prince is the Linda Lovelace of Floyd Mayweather, and he is absolutely loving it. Who will Floyd fight next??? It’s like waiting for the final decision from a ducker.

Posted December 31, 2013 10:02 pm

PEEJ Once again with all due respects, you say that Maidana and Bradley are MORE deserving than Pac. I know that it’s a matter of opinions but.. what did Maidana do to out-merit Manny? His win over Broner? Honestly speaking, the main reason his win was so “big” was Pbecause of the public’s general dislike/hate for “The Problem”, wouldn’t you say? I know it wasn’t his wins over Josesito Lopez or Jesus Soto Karass that convinced you, right? I believe 2 out of the three officials had Josesito ahead before the stoppage. His lopsided lost to overrated Devon Alexander tells me more about El Chino than his fore-mentioned fights. Don’t get me wrong, I liked Chino before and like him even MORE now!! You base/support your opinion on the fact that Manny has lost 2 out of his last three. hmmm… Well, if you honestly believe his loss to Bradley was good decision I’ll respect that although I don’t agree. His loss to Marquez? Well PEEJ, let’s be completely honest, if they fought tomorrow, who would YOU lay your hard earned money on?? Honestly now… who? I bet on Marquez in their last two fights and bet on Pac in their 2nd fight. If they fought tomorrow I’d go with Manny. Did you have Bradley ahead in ALL THREE of his most recent rather controversial fights?? Do you think Maidana, Khan, Guerrero, Victor Ortiz… would defeat Pac? PEEJ, I’m not saying Pac would defeat Floyd. I guess what disappoints me most is that we’ll probably never ACTUALLY know. Peace PEEJ, peace to all.

Right now nobody at 140 to 154 can beat MONEY

Posted December 31, 2013 9:23 pm

Khan should grow some balls and face Maidana for the beating of his life as Khan skated by the first fight.

Yeah, Khan dropped Maidana rd 1 but he was lucky to escape Maidana

Maybe because there negotiating with pacquiao.

Posted December 31, 2013 9:12 pm

Shucks we were promise a fight match up name by christmas by that golden boys guy.
Floyd hold out for khan because of ppv money, khan hasn’t got it. And Floyd seen what the Mexican fans will pay for a good fight so he wants maidana, maidana should not rush it as he need a rest, he not a twice a year fighter. So it’s a disadvantage as who knows if he will be 100% but on the other hand he very small, little, tiny, petite, long odd, chance
Of Floyd.LOL nah… He adjusting the late right hand to catch broner/Floyd as they duck back down.

Posted December 31, 2013 8:41 pm

Maybe he should fight Broner again, that’s a good fight because he knows he can win. Would broner step into the ring again with madana, not sure.

Posted December 31, 2013 8:31 pm

Instead of talking BS open your eyes and ears. May vs PAC want happen until 2015 after Pacs Arum contract expires. Now you knowso stop talking crap and wait.

Posted December 31, 2013 8:15 pm

We all know that boxing politics stinks but Floyd can pick who he wants for a voluntary defence irrespective of Khan never having boxed at welterweight before or beating no one of any real value. For what it’s worth, Floyd would outbox Khan but would not have the one punch power to stop him so would have to grind out a late stoppage or UD. Against a big puncher Khan would be in danger of being stopped at any point but he could afford to get hit a few times off Floyd so could take a few chances to land his own. I think he may well pinch a few rounds due to his speed and reach.

Posted December 31, 2013 7:58 pm

Hec Dog

I just don’t see any way Maidana or Khan beat Mayweather, and trust me, I would love nothing better than to see one of those guys beat him. IMO, they just don’t have the skills to beat Mayweather. You need speed, great feet. stamina, feints, power and other things to beat Floyd and hi style. Manny Pacquiao is the only guy that I can think of that possess certain intangibles to beat Mayweather. Maidana like I said is a tough warrior that will apply pressure like he did against Broner, but he is very slow and telegraphs all his punches. Mayweather will pick him apart. Khan has good speed, and likes to come forward to much. He can’t out box Floyd from the outside, and his arms never seem to come back to his guard leaving his head up in the air. Don’t see it. Manny Pacquiao is the only fighter that I’m 100% certain can beat Mayweather.

Posted December 31, 2013 7:56 pm

The Khan deal is as good as done. I guess we await to another 6 months to find the next excuse to not fight Pacman.

I was surprised at Maidana’s explosiveness vs Broner, when everyone said Broner would have the edge in speed Maidana kept with him I thought. FMJ would probably be too slick though, even for a prime Maidana. FMJ running to a UD.

Posted December 31, 2013 7:35 pm

If floyd fight Kahn it will gross 300 mil, on ppv he would be a fool not to take it, Skills Kahn dont have Fan base hell yes, Uk is loyal and they stand by there fighters too the bloody end mark my words this bout will sell out vegas, They are already going crazy other it on the internet, Adn yes Kahn will be easy work,…

Posted December 31, 2013 7:26 pm

Hec Dog, Floyd hasn’t destroyed anyone–without the aid of a sucker punch–since he fought Hatton in 2006. That’s over six years ago.

Floyd now specializes in fighting safe and “potshotting.” However, if he fights Khan, I expect him to stop Khan by the 10th round. If he fights Maidana, it will go 12. As usual.

Posted December 31, 2013 7:23 pm

Money is about Money , so in his mind going to UK to fight hatton’s heir would make more money an garauntee a certain win, neither of which is certain with Maidana

Posted December 31, 2013 7:23 pm

“Maidana doesn’t have Gate.”

LOL! Bullfugginshyt! Maidana just beat ex-wonderboy Broner. Maidana is very marketable.

Posted December 31, 2013 7:17 pm

“He’s lost 2 out of his last 4 fights, and he’s vulnerable against pretty much any welterweight contender, even the fringe contenders. ”

LOL! If you say so, Sorby.

BTW, Broner is not “little Mayweather.” He’s just Adrien Broner. The FORMER welterweight champion.

Additionally, Khan can “time” his opponents too. It’s not an exclusive skill belonging only to Garcia or Prescott. And in case you hadn’t forgotten Sorby, the Prescott fight was a long time ago and that name is gradually sinking into the boxing sunset.

Posted December 31, 2013 7:15 pm

Patience where has Mannys fast and cunning ability to get our of the way of Marquez over hand right? Or better yet where has his tremendous speed and power that can upset Floyd when he fought Bradley? And where was his KO power when Rios stood in front of him all night? I the famous words of Janet Jackson what have you done for me lately? lol

Posted December 31, 2013 7:01 pm

Patience Floyd is no Broner, Broners skills are no were near Floyds, Maidana is very easy to hit, Broner wasnt tested at all people gave him way too much credit than he deserved he has overhyped easy pickings for Marcos, For a guy like Broner its easy for anyone to look good fighting cab drivers, The reality is Broner is too small and lacks power and stamina to be 147, and Marcos exposes him. But anyone in there right mind know Floyd would beat Marcos like a drum. Plus maidana hasnt fought nobody..

Posted December 31, 2013 6:57 pm

Losing patience!

Kidding aside,Maidana has a similar style to Castillo and Castillo beat Floyd the first time so who knows?

Posted December 31, 2013 6:55 pm

Losing patience!

If its between Khan and Maidana then i choose Maidana. He earned the right by giving lil Floyds younger bro Broner a damn good thrashing and holds a belt. Be interesting to see if he can get close and land on the true chicken like he did with the pretender. I think he cant as this true chicken is mighty fast and is well protected inside the confinement of the cage(better known as the ring) lil Floyd could run, hold, cluck, throw his almighty 1 punch combinations, bore everyone to death, and get away with every dirty illegal spoiling tactic one can do in the ring and will still be victorious cuz the ref and judges have been told to protect this chicken at all costs as he lays golden eggs. There is a fast cunning fox named Manny that could enter that chicken cage and destroy it but as long as the chicken can continue to fool his followers the fox is unable to enter.

WOW my friend, I was waiting to see when someone was going to try to make that awful and unjust comparison. Manny Pacquiao is head and shoulders above Maidana. Maidana is simply a one dimensional fighter that has no speed. He just come at you and tries to impose his will on everyone, and he’s good at. He takes a good punch and is a true gallant warrior. He’s definitely a tough brawler.

I need to begin a new paragraph because Manny Pacquiao is in a whole different league than Marcos Maidana. Manny has more power, speed, athleticism, ring generalship, boxing skils, defense, command of the ring. I need to stop. Manny Pacquiao is the ONLY 8 division boxing champion in history. He’s arguably the greatest fighter of all time. He’s beaten the best, fought the best and will go down as the best. Please let’s not ever try and make the silly comparison with all due respect to Marcos Maidana. Manny is in another world. Manny’s the best.

Damn..try listening to your shyte for once!

Ali would not be the greatest without Frazier and Foreman in his resume. Floyd needs Paquiao and another big name to be in the conversation of the best of all times.

Posted December 31, 2013 6:39 pm

El Chino is chilling and not worry about Mayweather. If the fight happens cool if not he already SHUT one big mouth hype job.

Posted December 31, 2013 6:36 pm

Since everyone including Floyd knew that the khan fight is a joke I think Floyd is using maidanas win over broner to trick people into thinking ” broner fights like Floyd so maidana can probly beat Floyd” love maidana great champ! But he’s nothing more than a simple walk in the park for Floyd! BUT he’s labeld as a boxing bad ass at the moment so Floyd doesn’t look ” That” bad

Posted December 31, 2013 6:30 pm

Peej…you’re ignorant if you believe. Ask yourself first, if the weight is not an issue, why did Floyd need it then do you suppose? Do you think not think it was for any form of advantage or does this normally take place in any fight. If catchweights are a positive thing, then why isnt’ everyone doing it? The catchweight deal is an adavantage for Floyd otherwise, why play that game. Maidana is a good fighter but not an outstanding one. Comparing Maidana, Bradley, Garcia, etc. to Pac is like comparing apples to oranges, totally different. No way in the world anyone would agree Maidana and Pac are on the same level, even a mental midget would agree. Would any serious fan believe Ortiz and Guerrero “earned ” their fight with Floyd? Who are they? Where are they today if they were so deserving and awesome fighters? Maidana’s first fight at 147 and getting a belt does not automatically entitle him to a shot any more than it does Bradley who has waited far longer but is being ignored. As a complete fighter, Pac is and head and shoulders over anyone Floyd can fight, which is why Floyd is being a pussy and desperately hoping he retires before facing Pac. One more thing, just because it seems Maidana is more deserving ( I wouldnt know why however) doesn’t mean he is the best opponent for Floyd. I’m all against Floyd fighting those he knows he can beat….he never fights anyone who is a serious threat to his reign……He is…..Smoke and Mirrors.

The ” IRON CURTAIN” will not allow fights to happen in 2014 so UFC will not disappoint.

2013 was a great year in boxing for a long time thats hasent happened.

Top rank and GBP will play a the history s longest game of monopoly and destroy the sport if something dosent change, but owell ill just watch UFC.

Just do your part and ill do my part and not contribute to floyds fights by buying the ppv, floyd willbe fine and after he retires his nutt huggers wont ever see a penny of his millions, so who cares.

People from floyds camp post on here im aassuming so you will never change their minds or their greed and complete disrespect for what the fans want.

Floyd needs to fight lara . Or Martinez period…but of course that won’t happen just like Floyd ducked pacquiao back in 09 2010

Posted December 31, 2013 6:02 pm

Floyd is very short, almost a midget.

Posted December 31, 2013 6:00 pm

Actually you are not spot on. Who do you want him to fight. Don’t say Pac because Pac hasn’t earned it. Yet everybody says make this fight. That is dumb. No Khan hasn’t earned it but Bradley and Madaina have earned the right to fight Floyd. Canelo called Floyd out, he was the champ and Jr Middle and he took it. The weight had nothing to do with the out come of the fight. Canelo said the weight did not affect him and that Floyd was better than him. Plain and simple.

Posted December 31, 2013 5:59 pm

Problem with Floyd and Floydiots is that they assume Floyd can beat Pac on words alone. You can assume all you want but until they have fought NO one knows what will happen. Difference between Pac and Maidana is, Pac is a future hall of famer, Maidana is not. Floyd prefers to fight also rans and ignore the best fighters that ever laced them up. Floyd, heed this message: RETIRE!!

Posted December 31, 2013 5:59 pm

Anonymous your spot on, thats like ford motor company saying I dont care about my customers, but you wont here that.

Floyds fans would let floyd nutt on the wives and find a reason why it was good.

It is what it is, theres some people you just cant talk sense into no matter how right you are, just smile and have fun with it, you cant fix stupid.

Posted December 31, 2013 5:56 pm

If a concerted effort were made to boycott Floyd’s fights, Show Time would show him the door asap. Floyd doesn’t have to do it however, by ignoring fans’ request his stature will suffer and eventually so will his pay days. Floyd as we all know, does not fight the best. He merely fights the fighter he feels will help him increase PPV sales which, is why he fought Canelo, but then, not without a catchweight clause. If he fights Maidana, it would be because of the draw, not because Maidana is a major challenge, even he would admit to it. But, if you like paying for exhibition fights, go right ahead and make Floyd happier.

Very good Hec Dog, Pacquiao’s style is the same for Floyd. He WILL get picked apart too. Too smart, too skillful, too talented. Now all you delusional PAC fans repeat 100 times and get it through your thick skulls. It’ll save you your hard earned coin if you plan on betting on the fight if and when it comes into fruition.

Looked like there fight in San Antonio did pretty well, not to mention he can pull in the spanish speaking communities. He got a little gate. Enough that a fight with him will also sell over a million PPVs. But any fight with Floyd is almost guaranteed to sell a mil
