Has Kessler retired or does he have fight plans in 2014?

Well done, Hall! A fine win in a tough contest. Enjoy your title, and hav a merry Christmas.

St Vitus Dance

I thought I heard Gavin say to his corner between rounds “my left hand is gone” and he only used it sporadically after that, can’t see why he gets slagged off so much, he is a very talented fighter he might make it, he might not, but I will enjoy watching him try! Stuey Hall won a version of a world title after getting off his arse, and putting in a stirring performance against a very gutsy opponent, all those calling him a “bum” have a word with yourselves, what title have you ever won?

frankie gavin another hype job just like that welsh bozo cleverly.

Michael Collins

Another Brit-bum! Malinga was robbed, and soon as Hall gets in the ring with a great US Bantie its curtains for the lucky cheating fake Brit!

Didn’t Frankie damage his left hand against Pryce? Thought I heard him say so in the corner. He did not seem to be putting full power into his left.

Mr Gav

Gonna put it out there but who would win British fighter of the year? On paper Carl Froch would win it after beating Kessler so convincingly and TKO of in beatean Groves. But the stoppage was so bad its hardly counts as a victory. Ricky Burns defended his title twice but he was gifted his draw. Darren Barker was only fighter to win a world title abroad but also lost it quicker then anyone had attempts to win one. Suppose Scot Quigg or Carl Framton maybe? Stauart Hall deserves a shout! But who would you say?

Mr Gav

Welter weight has to be toughest division out there. I think kell brook is our best fighter( except Carl froch) and I don’t know how he will handle the top guys I’d like to see him fight Jesus sato or zab Judah. Looking at Alexanders last fight I would of favoured brook for that. Also Keith Thurman looks dangerous.I don’t know who brook will beat for a world title that’s if he can get fight as brooks name is not big in america yet.

Anonymous, you worthless ape, Gavin is 18-0 as a professional, a champ already, former gold medallist in the World amateur champs and will be ready to step into world class in 2014. Sort your face out, lol!

Nail on the head gav, he ups his game when the comp is upped. Should also be noted thet Pryce was the 3rd change of opponent

Posted December 22, 2013 4:51 pm

lol. plastic belt priceless.

Posted December 22, 2013 4:51 pm

make no mistake frankie gavin will stay well clear of those top welters.

Posted December 22, 2013 4:48 pm

gavin will go the same route as that other hype job kell brooke and try for a plastic belt.

Posted December 22, 2013 4:42 pm

Mr Gav

Fair point junior. But world class fighters need some power otherwise they won’t be able to hold of hard pressure fighters. I do rate Pryce he can compete at European level more of an opponent if anything. But Gavin didn’t show the same potential he did when he beat vassell I really need convincing he can live up to his amature pedigree. Maybe if his competition rises so will he? Brook is only British fighter about. Zab judahbwould be the best test Gavin is ready for him.

By the way Garcia and Matthyse are LWW, and Gavin is a WW. Although I believe Gavin should move down

Posted December 22, 2013 4:29 pm

They used to be, but as far as im aware neither of them won a world amateur championship ;-)

Posted December 22, 2013 4:26 pm

junior by real fighters i mean guys like danny garcia lucas and some of the other top welterweights, their not amateurs.

Posted December 22, 2013 4:24 pm

John, gavin is a world amateur champion. Hes beaten plenty “real fighters”

Posted December 22, 2013 4:16 pm

Mr gav im not sure u understand entirely how boxing works. Gavin isnt any good because he didnt ko brad pryce??? Lol. By your standard maidana isnt world class because he didnt ko khan but prescott and Garcia did.

Posted December 22, 2013 4:15 pm

as soon as gavin steps up and faces a real fighter, he will go the same way as khan bellow and that other ex plastic champ cleverly.

Posted December 22, 2013 3:27 pm

billy muslim boy. do they still sell mushy peas in your hometown of bradford now that its full of muslims.

Posted December 22, 2013 3:05 pm

I like the guy who just fought Froch he showed great potential and excellent power. Fight reminded me a little of Hearns vs Leonard 1. Hearns was way ahead on points damn ref stopped the fight with 10 seconds left in last round costing Hearns the title and Victory.

Posted December 22, 2013 2:31 pm

It’s kinda pick 4 from 10 and any could’ve finished with a belt. I hope 2014 is the year Brook starts fighting on the top table because I think he could be the best p4p at the moment.

Was Hall and Gavin’s fights even televised here in the U.S.?

Posted December 22, 2013 2:09 pm

Mr gav

Bradley pryce is finished a world class fighter would have won by tko considering the fact Matthew hall knocked pryce out in 2 when he was at is best

Posted December 22, 2013 1:17 pm

Great job…U.K. boxing has some very good years ahead!!!!!

Posted December 22, 2013 12:55 pm

Frankie beat Bradley Pryce by a near shut out

Posted December 22, 2013 12:36 pm

well done stuey

Posted December 22, 2013 10:32 am

mr gav

Certainly lots of action this year. We had a bad year abroad with many world title fails Purdy,Rees, bellow, barker,Murray,Macklin to name a few. And cleverly was exposed. But we got some real talent who may make a scene in 2014 in fury brook groves framton quigg Murray. I don’t rate bill Joe Saunders or Frankie Gavin to make an impact only will be exposed at world level as there both in tough divisions. And Amir khan will retire after his Floyd beat down. We have had a better crop of fighters in the past by for domestic level dust ups its been a year to. Remember
