Vitali is treading in dangerous waters of politics in Ukraine. Europe and Russia both vying for a hand in Ukraine’s future. Now you can see how BIG it was for brother Wlad to beat Russian Povetkin for a Ukrainian win. This is a fight bigger than any boxing match Vitali has ever undertaken. I wish him well and wish him safety in his political goal of President of Ukraine.Posted December 19, 2013 2:40 pm

Why wasn’t Lou Moret called to task about his error. I did not hear anything about this at the time.Posted December 19, 2013 1:50 am
Lewis wasn’t out of shape for Vitali… Lewis was training months for a Heavyweight Championship Fight and Vitali was only training for less than 2 weeks for a World Heavyweight Championship Fight.
Vitali was kicking Lewis’s ass on ALL SCORECARDS regardless… Obviously the fight goes to the scorecards and Vitali wins a Tech UD — that is with any other referee but Lou Moret, who let Lewis get away with dozens of fouls.
If Lewis hadn’t chickened out on the rematch he promised Vitali he would have gotten killed… Vitali was coming with a vengeance and took it out on Kirk Johnson and Corrie Sanders.Posted December 18, 2013 8:50 pm

so the best fighter vitali klit ever fought was an out of shape lewis. and he still lost.Posted December 18, 2013 8:53 am
Vitali is simply great no doubt. He could throw 100 punches per round for 12 rounds. That is crazy fit for a heavyweight. Came in to the ring in perfect condition every time. His punching combos and accuracy landing them is nothing short of genius as is his counter punching ability where he makes shorter forward coming fighters miss and follows up with a masterful combo. If that was not enough there is the daunting height standing somewhere between 6’7 and 6’8 and is masterful and maximizing this advantage and we cannot forget the granite chin. He did not go down even with LL massive punches and he has never been knocked down his whole career. Total respect. I still think a peak wlad would give him hell. Why??? Faster hands, faster feet, more raw one punch KO power, an even sharper better jab than vitali’s own jab and he matches him on size being slightly shorter but with a slightly longer reach. Wlad vs Sam Peter and Sanders was not a peak wlad. Wlad will never have his brothers chin but has many many advantages.Posted December 18, 2013 2:40 am

Lewis beat Vitali fair and square, and he did not even train for the fight. Vitali himself said he knew Lewis did not train. And yet Lewis had Vitali bleeding like a raw piece of meat.Posted December 18, 2013 1:46 am
Vitali’s best opponent was Lewis… But he was beating Lewis on ALL SCORECARDS and the fight should have gone to the scorecards because of Lewis’s rampant palming, thumbing, holding and hitting, and foul blows — which caused the deep slashes.. There was little swelling around the cuts — just very deeply slashed cuts, even on Vitali’s cheek. You don’t get those kinds of jagged cuts from clean punching.
Lewis, never in his life, caused those types of cuts on another opponent—and Vitali was never cut like that before or since. He’s not a bleeder.
The only other fight Vitali ever lost was versus Chris Byrd when he was a mile ahead on the scorecards and suffered a severe injury to his left shoulder and couldn’t continue… Vitali is the only Heavyweight Champion in history who has never been knocked down — and was always ahead on points… Oliver McCall is the only other Heavyweight Champion who was never floored—but McCall was behind on points a ton of times.
Vitali stopped Corrie Sanders and Ross Purrity, who both stopped Wladimir… Sam Peter knocked Wladimir down 3 times—but lost every minute of every round to Vitali — without ever reaching Vitali with a good punch.Posted December 18, 2013 1:38 am
Vitali is great, definitely in the top 10 greatest heavies. I just think wlad has a much better resume. Vitali’s best opponent was lewis. Sanders took it to him for 4 or so rounds but was a pro golfer and got gasses. Sam Peters at 6’0 was never going to reach him, an old blown up cruiser gomez was no threat at all. Briggs was just a punch bag, Johnson went the 12 but had no power to threaten vitali. Ademek could not beat Grant and got a gifted decision to face vitali, I would have rather seen grant in there. Solis was so fat an out of shape he screwed his own knee, Sonsowski could not even manage dimitrenko. why did he get a title shot. Chisora and Arreola are brawlers, they come too fight and put on a good show but not in the same league. Danny williams was never a great boxer, None of these guys were the best in the division and all of them are 4 inches or shorter than vitali. Lewis and timo his tallest opponents gave him the hardest fights. If you have the belt fight the best out there. Maybe no one wanted to step it up. I just think wlad faced the much higher calibre of the division and has actually fought several guys his own height or taller. I could see vitali struggling with a slightly more proven version of fury or wilder simply because they are faster than him, are as tall and can reach him and pack a punch. Sad we did not see him with more good tall men. Vitali has the very best style for chopping down shorter fighters and he did it masterfully. Respect!!!Posted December 17, 2013 11:14 pm
Typical Suliman (gangster) move… and I mean that with all the respect in the world to Vitali. The belt should be vacated and the next 2 highest ranked boxers should face off for the vacant belt. Stiverne has earned his spot make no bones about it, but Wilder? C’mon he is no where near ready…. Stiverne vs Fury for the WBC belt is what needs to happen… Fury by about 9th round KO!Posted December 17, 2013 8:04 pm

Wladimir will be 38 in March.. This leaves him somewhat vulnerable.. Pulev, Fury, Haye, Wilder, and Jennings all have to be assessing their chances against an aging Wladimir. He be a big favorite to beat them, but that’s always the case with an aging ATG.
Wladimir was technically flawed before he got with Steward… Now he’s pretty masterful in all aspects of the game, but he’s an old man. He’s got a trainer in Johnathon Banks who’s a poor substitute for Steward. He fought well but stunk the joint out in his last fight with his excessive holding—and Banks basically had his thumb up his ass where Steward would have been screaming bloody murder at Wlad … It’s an interesting situation if you’re one the top 5 or 6 heavyweights.Posted December 17, 2013 6:18 pm
Bums fighting for the WBC belt? The only other alternatives are for waldimir to win this then spend the next 5 or 6 years fighting even bigger bums that even wilder wouldn’t bother with. Or vitali to keep his belt indefinitely not even defending it as the WBC have not got the balls to strip him of it. I will stick by what I said and have the other heavyweights fight it out in even and well styled fights. As waldimir is unbeatable and no one is remotely close of beating him. It’sthe best out the situationPosted December 17, 2013 5:16 pm
Its about time VK quit holding the WBC belt hostage. If he is no longer going to fight, then GTFO! I see deontay Wilder grabbing this belt by the end of 2014. If he keeps developing well, I can see him unseating a 39 year old WK in early 2015. DW is the hardest hitter I have seen in a long time. i plan on studying more video of him, but his power seems to be A+!Posted December 17, 2013 4:48 pm

pulev has stayed the course to fight men as big or bigger than him. he beat the only man to have been beaten only by wlad. Tiger KOed Price twice. There is not too many homeboys ahead of price on that rock. Tiger is still the best in the US. he sure is not a gate among those misfits. Pulev beat some of the higher ranks who are now been kicked down lower. fury, haye, wilder, arreola, adamek, etc etc etc do not want to jump in with him. losing to pulev will not be very profitable. pulev has placed himself more than once in the manditory position of the IBF. wlad-pulev is a serious money maker in germany. how badly does wlad wish to play with those cents. wlad can sell Alex Leapai . . . fools would jump to just see a Leapai get KO. can’t satisfy everyone, but damn, you gots to be kidding to want to watch Leapai get kill by Wlad.Posted December 17, 2013 4:36 pm

Sad vitali only fought one man his own size his whole career. He was without question a great champ, I just wanted to see him in there with another good tall man. Ok “proud African” .. You are gonna loose this argument… Who did Vitali fight?? Well, how about this, who did Lewis fight?? LOL … don’t say Holyfeild, he was already finished by the time he fought him, which ended in a draw in the first fight. Don’t say Tyson either, cause he was washed up LOL .. Micheal Grant, gimme a break !! .. Bruno? Ptffft lol… Man, the only real fighter he fought was Vitali, and he won because of a cut !! Losing on all judges scorecards !!! .. Lewis had only 2 weeks notice yes, BUT, so did Vitali.. And by that time, Vitali wasn’t even tested yet.Posted December 17, 2013 4:07 am
I got it wrong. Vitali has vacated belt with the option to fight for it back if he wants too. Silvertene vs arreloa is next up but silvertene has problems with don king so looks Like it is arreloa vs wilder for WBC belt next yearPosted December 17, 2013 4:02 am
The WBC should let Vladimir fight their No. 1, so that Vlad Klitschko can unite the big belts. After that,, Vladimir could give up one or two belts but defeat those new champions onvce a year until he turns 40-something. Then he could retire.Posted December 17, 2013 2:52 am
Last I read Stiverne is in a court battle with Don King who will not allow him to fight anybody………..so, that leaves #2 Arreola who Vitali stopped and Wilder who has never fought anyone even nearly ranked at all………If they simply give Wilder a title, Wilder will have a rematch with Sconiers and some other bums. Vitali would have had no problem stopping Stiverne, has already stopped Arreola and would have killed Wilder with a jab! Vlad knocked Wilder down with a jab while sparring for the Wach fight. Vlad easily outboxed Wilder, beat him from one side of the ring to the other.
What Vitali is doing is extremely dangerous. It takes much more courage to do what Vitali is doing now than any boxing match could ever be.
Vitali would beat all top ten fighters in the world today without any problem. Wilder? He will not even fight one ranked fighter. How did he get ranked #3 WBC without fighting anyone ranked? $$$$$$$$$$? Notice that Wilder has had zero fights lately, he appears to be hoping that he will simply be given the title without even fighting for it. Anyone see what Haye did to Wilder while sparring? Wilder looked like a drunk. Wonder if Wilder will have Laurence Cold as his referee? LOL!Posted December 17, 2013 2:40 am

Vitali Klitschko just wants Ukraine to have a responsible and responsive government… He’s not in this for his own aggrandizement. He wants to lift the country up, and the common, ordinary Ukrainian citizen along with it.

It`s also worth pointing out however that there was already an effective opposition in the Ukraine, the leader of which was unfairly inprisoned.
Vitali has never been close to polling enough votes to become president, and those votes he does pull are effectively splitting the vote of those who would go against the government.
Meaning he would have been more effective to throw his lot in with the opposition, and to then try to become leader of that party at a later date if getting rid of the status quo were his main aim.
He didn`t though because, despite how some try to present him, the dude has an ego.Posted December 16, 2013 11:53 pm
It`s worth reiterating that Vitali’s PhD such as it is, isn`t in science in any classical sense of the word. It’s sports science – the vulgar underachieving offspring of genuine science.
He wrote a thesis on Sponsorship in Sport. The guy spent every day for three years basically trying to work out how to wring as much money as possible from a sporting career, and is now trying to become president because his governement won`t join the EU.
Dude is not a commie.Posted December 16, 2013 11:49 pm
Vitali is one of the most successful capitalists ever to pull on boxing gloves.. But he’s also a believer in representative government with free and fair elections.. and one that addresses problems of poverty, economic growth, business, and industry development, health care, infrastructure development, education, law enforcement, fiscal and monetary policy, from the standpoint of the average Ukrainian citizen instead of the well connected government old boy’s network..
Ukraine has a massively corrupt government right now, and there’s a lot of people who want it to stay that way… Vitali is getting into a dangerous vocation.Posted December 16, 2013 11:38 pm

The vacant belt is supposed to be contested by the top challengers. That would be Stiverne against Arreola in a rematch. But I read somewhere else that Stiverne is involved in a legal beef with Don King and may not be able to fight in time. If so, that would make the fight between Arreola and Wilder. In any case, however it shakes out, we’ll have some new life in the HW division courtesy of a belt opening up. But whether Stiverne, Arreola or Wilder ends up winning it, Wlad would probably wipe the floor with any of them if a unification ever happened.Posted December 16, 2013 4:58 pm

Lenin was in idealist, but unfortunately very naive. His idea of communism was pretty close to the christian principles of peace and the idea of giving and sharing. Sven Ottke beat Chris Byrd too.Posted December 16, 2013 3:30 pm
And Joe Calzaghe beat Chris ByrdPosted December 16, 2013 3:09 pm

Vitali klitschko is a great man and a great champ. Thanks for all the fights and good luck in the politics, you gonna need it.Posted December 16, 2013 2:58 pm
I’m as big a VK fan as there is, but this is garbage. He should have made this decision long ago instead of tying up the belt. He should have defended the title one more time against Stiverne and the retire. He’s not going to fight again because he’s so into politics and he’s aging quickly, so why make him him Emeritus champion? I’m very disappointed in him.Posted December 16, 2013 2:53 pm
It’s a noble and dangerous thing that Vitali is doing – but the whole champion emeritus thing is beyond laughable.Posted December 16, 2013 2:50 pm
It’s only right that two other guys will get to fight for the WBC title. If VK ever wants to come back again, he’ll get a quick shot.Posted December 16, 2013 2:49 pm
The reality of Ukrainian politics is that Vitali is risking his freedom, health, and perhaps life. Do a Google search on Ukrainian politicians if you don’t believe me.Posted December 16, 2013 2:41 pm
Just make it up as you go along…Posted December 16, 2013 2:38 pm
No vitali can do what he wants. He will remain WBC champion till he decides he will retire and dose not even have to defend his title. The WBC are a joke and are preventing anyone not a klitchcow from progressing thier careers and denying the fight fans some great match ups. Most champions have to defend thier titles at least once a year. Only exception is vitaliPosted December 16, 2013 2:25 pm
Becoming a political crook will depreciate his boxing achievements. He is not fighting for democracy, he is fighting for power which in his country means wealth like in any other country. He was a good boxer but he is free falling to the moral sewers and unmasking himself;f as a greedy gold digger with no parameters.Posted December 16, 2013 2:22 pm
So does Stiverne fight Wilder or Arreola again?Posted December 16, 2013 2:16 pm
