Is there any fight out there that is NOT for a belt?

Rapid One

Wow now we can add this fight to the list of good bouts that has already happened..Very good year for boxing

How does Berto always fight the weakest Champ when challenging for a title ?

I don’t think this will be a tremendous fight, such as the Ortiz-Berto fight… If Ortiz can outpoint Berto he’s not much of a boxer. It was a pretty lopsided fight even with the 4 knockdowns.. He can possibly outpoint Bundrage who’s an accidental champion.

This is a good fight. I believe Berto is innocent of juicing and deserves a big fight. Bundrage will take any fight and this is a good opportunity for him. I think Berto wins, but you just can’t count K-9 out.

I haven’t read that, but even I had, I don’t believe that crap for a second…they’re just sweeping it under the rug and acting as though “it wasn’t what it seemed”.

That was nothing but “accusations” made from his P4P competitor Mayweather…it was all ego, neither wanted to bend. Pacman has agreed to ALL forms of testing, you can’t compare that to someone who is a confirmed cheat, not someone who was accused with NO evidence whatsoever.

I am afraid that Berto takes this by ko. Bundrage has lost to the likes of Joel Julio, Grady Brewer, Steve Forbes and Schew Powell. Berto is better than all of those guys, unless he has really slipped during his inactivity. I like Bundrage though and the way he dispatched Corey Spinks.

Seems like a decent matchup. I think Berto will start catching K9 with counter rights by the 3rd and will get the stoppage by the 6th. Will Berto get wobbled is the question in my mind?

…but let me guess how you felt about Pac ducking drug tests?

What has berto done after losing to ortiz at 147lb for his paper belt then get caught juicing & earn a 154lb title shot before Lara,Molina?Either one gets smacked by Lara/molina easy.Another paper belt for either canelo/cotto.

WOW! This is a GREAT fight for the fans! Hats off to Bundrage, Berto, and their people for taking this! This fight has it all. Berto can box and is a warrior. Bundrage can crack and has broken down Slick Boxers before. This is a huge fight for Boxing. If Berto wins? It makes 154 that much more interesting. If Bundrage wins, it will really shuffle the rankings and launch Bundrage into the big time. It also leaves us with the Berto/Ortiz rematch if all else fails. This fight is huge! Boxing fans win all around.

They said that his intake of steriods was “contamination” man… chill….. it’s not like he blantantly took it like Pederson or Chavez jr………… unless you have info that I missed.. if so let me know though because I am curious

NICE. I really really like this.. fight.. two guys in almost the same position.. to me.. I’d lean a little towards K-9..but it’s close. Not a bad fight at all to me… just would rather see K-9 vs Kirkland or Lara or Alvarez and Berto vs. a WW… but this fight ain’t bad… a real; challenge to fighters to start taking harder fights

Posted September 26, 2012 5:54 pm

I was never really a Berto fan….but I’m even less of a fan now. Punk a** cheater!

Posted September 26, 2012 5:48 pm

You’re pumped about a “deep division”? Here we have a proven CHEAT who doesn’t deserve a title shot (or contention shot) in his OWN division, let alone a shot in a division (154) he’s never competed it, but he’s getting one? WTF? Boxing is KILLING itself. For real. This is shameful.

Berto may win this fight but his chin will not hold up to the elite of the division

NFL is thriving and it has the same problems…the difference is the way the fans treat the problems. Boxing fans have grown so accustomed to talk bad about the sport that it has become a reflex. Don’t be so negative.

boxing is dying a slow death.. PED’s.. corrupt officials.. even in the amateurs!

philly shell

What an incredibly deep division – Pac man, Mayweather, Cotto, Canelo, Trout, Lara, Vanes, Shawn Porter, now Berto, probably Ortiz… Hatton coming back… just wow….

The Mad Scientist

With Pacquiao and Mayweather a step away from retirement every fighter around the 154lbs weight class will now try to position themselves to get a shot at Canelo..Victor Ortiz will be the next one to campaign at 154lbs when he comes back from his injury..

Posted September 26, 2012 3:48 pm

Just stay away from Victor Conte… Don’t even talk to the ex-con; he’ll just shine you on like he always does… His breath stinks anyway, and you might test positive for something just from breathing the same air.

Solid fight. IF Beto wins I hope it leads to Berto vs. Canelo, Cotto or Mayweather.

So Berto who lost his last fight ,was banned for using PED”s is rewarded with a 154 title shot,in a weight class he never fought in, Am I missing something here,-peace

Posted September 26, 2012 2:57 pm

Really?? So this guy (welterweight) gets suspended for cheating and his very first fight upon his return is for a title at 154? Wow! Boxing is so corrupt it’s ridiculous. I can’t believe this crap, first Margacheato get’s 2 (not one) cracks at a 154lb title and now this? Nauseating
