Tark- are you sure Kovalev didn’t get knocked down to the canvas by Boone and fight on to a draw with Boone in the first time they met. I heard thats why Kovalev want leave it to the judges anymore once he hurts someone. I’m not sure but 2 things that i’ve read/listened to said that he did. I’m not 100% sure on that though.

He did win easy… It wasn’t easy to take the kd punch… But he got up, resumed control, and won the fight fairly easily. Like I said, if Kovalev nailed him like that, he’d finish Ward off.

Now that was an early fight as well… Ward wasn’t a finished boxer then.

Tark you need to rewatch the Ward-Boone fight. That was not easy cake walk for Ward even after he got up from being rocked. Ward never even fazed Boone and Boone landed a lot of good shots on Ward. That fight could’ve been given to Boone on decision for the much more solid blows instead of Wards pitty pat-show the judges activity shots. You’re crazy if you’re saying “Ward cruised to an easy victory”.

Boone caught Ward with a real good shot.. It happens.. Ward was shaken up but wasn’t in a lot of danger — due to his cool head and his opponent’s lack of finishing skills.. AW took control back and won easily … Against a finisher like Kovalev he wouldn’t have made it.

CJ, Notice how every one of them skirted Boone putting Ward on queer street ;-)

Good call and even now, it’s evident Ward can only fight from distance and up close and inside, Ward is a million to short hooks!

Bellow just in there for a punching bag

Posted November 28, 2013 11:43 pm

Hmmm. Interesting about Boone and Kovalev. What is the truth?

Posted November 28, 2013 8:52 pm

Don’t know about boxing

Boone DID drop Kovalev in round 7 of their first fight…

Posted November 28, 2013 7:44 pm

Please ignore the previous post by the fake using my name. We all know only f@cking p@ssies sit on the fence. Bellew by KO.

Posted November 28, 2013 7:30 pm

Someone trying to use my name again to put out predictions. But I have no prediction, just looking forward to a good fight.

Posted November 28, 2013 4:30 pm

Boone didn’t floor Kovalev. He floored Ward. He lost a decision to Kovalev and was KO’d in 2 in their rematch.

Posted November 28, 2013 3:03 pm

boxing barlow

Yep school boy error by the writer. Bellew was outpointed by Cleverly

Posted November 28, 2013 1:44 pm

Don’t know about boxing

CJ is partially correct. Boone DID fight Kovalev twice and DID knock him down in their first fight. It wasn’t a draw, it was a split decision win for Kovalev by 1 point…

Posted November 28, 2013 1:18 pm

Bad match up for Bellew, gets stopped in 5.

Posted November 28, 2013 12:51 pm

Bellew by KO. NID.

Posted November 28, 2013 12:47 pm

My bad on Boone vs Kovalev fellows. I thought Kov got his draw with Boone from what somebody said on a post but that’s wrong. Anyway what Boone did to Stevenson and Ward is pretty incredible.

Posted November 28, 2013 11:59 am

huh cj? boone lost to kovalev and they only fought once in an 8 rounder.

Posted November 28, 2013 11:27 am

@ CJ…. You’re CRAZY man… Boone never fought a draw with Kovalev or floored him you… You’re making that BS up.

Boone fought Kovalev ONCE and he was KTFO EARLY.. Kovlev murdered Boone—and was also murdering the guy he drew with.. It was a techical draw because Kovalev’s opponent was unable to recover from an accidental foul and only 2 rounds had been fought.

Darnell Boone should have his own article written about him. The most perplexing journeyman ever! KO’d Stevenson in their first and then got KO’d by Stevenson in rematch. Almost KO’d Ward in a 6 round fight, flooring him soundly and had him wobbly and possibly could have gotten the points decision. Boone floored Kovalev and fought to a draw with him and then got KO’d in rematch. All this with a little over a .500 record. All this against the 3 top fighters hovering from 168 to 175? Pretty INCREDIBLE!!! Guys like Boone are the other reason boxing/sports are great other than the top guys.

Has Ward beaten Mayweather? No. Has Ward beaten Pacquiao? No. Has Ward beaten both Klitschkos? No. Did Ward ever beat Mike Tyson, when Mike was in his prime? No. So I don’t think Ward deserves to be in the PfP rankings.

Posted November 27, 2013 10:52 pm

Yea, that’s right… besides Ward handily cleaning out the entire 168 weight class (via the Super 6) what has he done to deserve a PfP rating?

Posted November 27, 2013 10:48 pm

GG would rip apart Ward. Ward not ready to take on a real fight and he can claim king of that weak azz 168 div all day long. Ward dont deserve to be on that P4P list.

sam D

Adonis vs weak azz Ward, Ward stop running- Adonis at 175 and then we will see what your made of.

Posted November 27, 2013 10:30 pm

They’re capable of beating Ward, but not probable to. Ward’s ring I.Q. is 2nd only to Mayweather’s. Plus, he can fight equally well on the inside as well as the outside and he always gets off first. And when have you ever seen Ward even close to being rocked? Oh ya, that’s right, never.

Posted November 27, 2013 10:13 pm

George Groves and Stevenson are well capable of beating Ward, one punch power with skills check the Froch and Dawson fights.

Posted November 27, 2013 9:30 pm

I like the way Stevenson has looked in his last two fights. I hope he wins this fight, but but I don’t like how he’s talking about fighting Hopkins after Bellew. I’d like to see him vs. Kovalev or the winner of Pascal-Bute instead. I haven’t seen Bellew fight so I don’t know what his chances are to win.

Posted November 27, 2013 9:25 pm

Stevenson, Groves, and Bellew beating Ward? Hahahaha!! That’s laughable. Some people think Ward is boring and that’s ok. But if u don’t think he’s a great fighter (a.k.a. clearly #2 P4P), then you simply don’t know what you’re looking at. His game is superb.

Posted November 27, 2013 9:03 pm

Let’s see if ward keeps ducking this guy.

Posted November 27, 2013 8:37 pm

Groves ko’s Ward in the second round.

Posted November 27, 2013 8:36 pm

Stevenson Ko’s bellew in the eighth round

Posted November 27, 2013 8:20 pm

No he won’t, lucky to get a draw.

Posted November 27, 2013 8:13 pm

Goodison Park

Bellew will win.

Posted November 27, 2013 8:07 pm

This will be a major test for Stevenson. He scored a few lucky knock outs but will be schooled by bellew who is probably the second best European boxer behind Amir khan.

Posted November 27, 2013 6:59 pm

Neil (Pomy)

Bellew is a good fighter but i think his style will suit Stevenson. Should be good fight.

Posted November 27, 2013 6:07 pm

lou dibella bribed hbo to have edwin get on the card.

Posted November 27, 2013 5:30 pm

I AM A fan of The Bomber, but if SUPERMAN boxes in and out, like he did to put the storm of TAVORIS CLOUD out, I can’t see BELLEW living with him.
BELLEW is too flat footed to keep pace as he will be turned inside out by Superman, who can box, move and punch if he so chooses.
Bellew’s best chance ironically is in a shoot-out, where he can land his own power shots, rather than chase shadows as superman darts in, out and round him.

Posted November 27, 2013 4:31 pm

Another legend in his own mind ,Tony Bellew only stepped up as far as cleverly and lost, talking on sky like a world beater about beating likes of Danny macintosh and chilemba at the second attempt ,what will the excuse be this time when he gets bedley exposed?

Posted November 27, 2013 4:30 pm

In my opinion yes but this was also his first fight back after a 14 month lay off and surgery.

Posted November 27, 2013 4:26 pm

Lol. So HE done nothing then

Posted November 27, 2013 3:57 pm

The Garbageman

Once again PEEJ has the beat.

Posted November 27, 2013 3:56 pm

He was pushed on Ward by HBO. That is how Rodriguez got his shot.

Posted November 27, 2013 3:52 pm

Please, get your own screen name. You have no boxing knowledge.

Posted November 27, 2013 3:25 pm

bellew got beat by cleverly, enough said.

Posted November 27, 2013 3:19 pm

Junior, he beat the highly rated Denis Grachev.

Posted November 27, 2013 3:15 pm

if Stevenson wins call out ward at i68. if ward is number 2 p4p he will rise and accept the challenge

Posted November 27, 2013 3:09 pm

Peej, who did rodriguez beat to get his shot at ward?

Posted November 27, 2013 3:04 pm

Serdmon and obl 1 will pull the train on their thanksgiving turkey tomorrow.

Posted November 27, 2013 2:42 pm

Ward never ducked Stevenson at 168. Who did Stevenson beat at 168 to get a shot at Ward? Struggling with Donavan George was that his ticket to fight Ward?

Posted November 27, 2013 2:27 pm

ward will never fight stevenson he already ducked him at 168

Posted November 27, 2013 1:56 pm

Stevenson is a raw talent but he an older fighter who has a flaws in his game.

Posted November 27, 2013 1:52 pm
